It's a pretty tough list and only 5 out of 15 make it, so I would not be shocked if he is not a first-time inductee. But, I think he will get into the HOF in time.

Brian Dawkins Named Finalist For Pro Football Hall Of Fame

1. Brian Dawkins, safety (Philadelphia Eagles, 1996-2008; Denver Broncos, 2009-2011)

2. Jason Taylor, defensive end (Miami Dolphins, 1997-2007, '09, 2011; Washington Redskins, 2008; New York Jets, 2010)

3. LaDainian Tomlinson, running back (San Diego Chargers, 2001-09; New York Jets, 2010-11)

4. Morten Andersen, kicker (New Orleans Saints, 1982-1994; Atlanta Falcons, 1995-2000; 2006-07; New York Giants, 2001; Kansas City Chiefs, 2002-03; Minnesota Vikings, 2004)

5. Don Coryell, coach (St. Louis Cardinals, 1973-77; San Diego Chargers, 1978-1986)

6. Kurt Warner, quarterback (St. Louis Rams, 1998-2003; New York Giants, 2004; Arizona Cardinals, 2005-09)

8. Isaac Bruce, wide receiver (Los Angeles Rams, 1994; St. Louis Rams, 1995-2007; San Francisco 49ers, 2008-09)

9. Terrell Owens, wide receiver (San Francisco 49ers, 1996-2003; Philadelphia Eagles, 2004-05; Dallas Cowboys, 2006-08; Buffalo Bills, 2009; Cincinnati Bengals, 2010)

10. Tony Boselli, offensive tackle (Jacksonville Jaguars, 1995-2001; Houston Texans, 2002)

My list is this

1) Dawkins
2) LT
3) Warner
4) Faneca
5) TO

I know they kept TO out of first ballot for his rep but he is unquestionably a HOF player.

Dawkins, Faneca and LT to me are all locks, but I think only LT is guaranteed to get in this time.

I would add Lynch, although adding 2 safeties the same year may be difficult, and leave off Faneca or Mawae.

My favorite Eagle of all-time. His #'s speak for themselves, but he was so much more than that - I hope he gets in on the 1st ballot, that would be awesome!

Same here
I live in the Denver area but I am a Bronco hater and it killed me that he signed with the Broncos
Sure - i was able to see him play each weekend but having to hear friends and family talk about him like they knew about him his whole career was irritating - bunch of bandwagonners

Yes I'm a bitter old man

I lived in the Denver arwea too (Centennial). I did notice how they talked as if he were a lifelong Bronco. I think he now makes his home there.

He lives there while his kids are still in school, but he will move back here soon. The Eagles, as you know, hav made him a part of the organization. His goal is to become a GM, and I wouldn't be surprised if he replaces Howie at some point, or at another VP level (or director).

And how quickly did we throw him away, despite a SB appearance and franchise records set in 1 year alone. How many discussions on here of people making the case that he didn't have anything to do with us making the SB??? Just irks me the way certain PHI fans love to throw the best away that we have... wings on Cox this past off-season; enut on Wentz already; so many that are ready to take Djackson back were so willing to throw him away earlier, along with McCoy and Mathis. I didn't think we were allowed to even TALK about TO here, lone less confess he is a HOF talent. WOW. Just WOW how things change.

IMHO Dawkins deserves to make it. But I have to admit, it's with complete Koolaid - as he is my favorite alltime eagles player. But I'm not sure that is shared as widely outside of the eagles fandom.

I do like your list tho - but I'd substitute

Kevin Mawae for Terrell Davis.

Davis is the reason Elways got his SB rings and set major records doing it. The guy has been passed up enough.

Gotta admit tho - I feel bad for K Anderson.

Couldn't fit DJax and Chip's egos in the same room. One had to go. Sadly it should have been Chip.

I think the fact that Dawk went to Denver and also played in Pro Bowls there makes him a stronger HOF pick. I think he has pretty broad support from fans and writers, though it is always hard to get in first ballot.

No one is denying TO is a HOFer and a great player for the Birds, but his situation here was toxic... much of his own doing, as it always was in his case - he threw his QB under the bus and was a locker room cancer. Doesn't matter how talented you are, if you divide the locker room your ass is grass.

way too much is made of that. Players did not have issues with him. Players understand the business side of football also. TO wanted 1.5 mil more. He was worth it. He took a discount just to get here, given his situation. He more than proved himself. We were recouping 2 mil by cutting Pinkston. We should have done it the day after the SB and shouldn't have even waited for him to ask. That's how you keep a stud happy and balling.

As far as him and McNabb - that is more on McNabb than TO. And they had issues the first season, when we went to the SB. It just didn't hit the press until the off-season. So that is balony. TO made McNabb look good, and we had success. Don't care how you feel about him - we were winning. So the whole locker room cancer thing is garbage imho.

If we had kept the same forumula as the previous year, we would have had a strong shot at another SB run. Instead, Reid increased passing into utter predictability, and we began losing games. During those losses, TO was actually OUT PERFORMING his previous season, and on course to break his franchise record again. It was not TO that was the problem. Most teams try to gameplan to make a team one-dimensional. Reid did it for the defenses. WTH good is constant play action when no one bites because your not running it????

Why did Reid cut him if there wasn't issues in the locker room? There was more to it than just the contract. Yes I agree the Eagles should have been more proactive and given him the extension, but there was a lot of other acrimony in the organization at the time that led to questionable decisions (Banner). We would given him the contract and he would have found some other issue to create eventually, that's just who he is.

My biggest grief with Reid was always his strategy using the run game, he deployed it as a decoy to the pass, that's why they always sucked in short yardage/goal-line situations. He never made running the ball an actual part of his offense, and actually admitted in an interview once that if it were up to him, he would pass on every play.

I'd be pretty surprised if he was a first ballot. Guys like Ed Reed and Polamalu were generally more highly regarded by the national media when they were the best safeties in the NFL, even though they were all wrong.

Dawkins is the greatest Eagle ever. Period.
