How the hell did he complete a forward pass 10 yards behind the LOS? Jesus, did he take a 13 step drop?
7 of Darnold's completions were behind the line of scrimmage.

Sam Wreck-it Ralph Darnold!!!
Woah, at least Ralph can throw the ball farther than 10 yards.
They are hooman beings not slabs of meat, sir.2018 is by far the derpiest-looking class of QB's ever drafted.
I have to look away from Darnold like he's Medusa, cuz he's so fuggin dopey-lookin'.
More game film on him than Baker? Not sure if that played a part or not but Darnold did look like a rookie. Browns D has been improved this year as well.after all the game 1 hype after the pick 6, he has looked like an average rookie at best.
I realize the book is not out on him, but he looked like an amateur compared to Baker.
Thoughts?
I just think there's lots to be learned from watching a veteran starter in the same offense you'll be going into.depends. Do they want to win? Then I agree. Do they want him to get game speed experience? Then he should be out there.
They aren't good enough to win, so let him have trial by fire. If he is so mentally fragile that some losses will ruin him, then he isn't franchise material to begin with.

Stafford was 1-2
Teams are game-planning for him now with actual NFL game film to study. Teams will now do the same with Baker, and I would expect him to struggle more in the upcoming games (well, maybe not against the Raiduhs).
Observations on 2 rookies after week 3. Nothing more. I'd say the hype is warranted at this pointInteresting how Darnold looked pretty solid in that Lions game, where everything went right for the Jets, and folks were saying what a great pick he was.
Last night, it's Mayfield looking good in relief of a mediocre QB, and everyone's on HIS jock this morning, while at the same time saying "look at how shitty Darnold is"
Let's all wait & see. Both of them could probably play way worse and way better than they did last night.

He's 3 games in...I wouldn't make any solid determination at this point. He does look a bit tentative right now.
Darnold looks like a rookie QB playing against a real defense.
I dont think I would hang for that. Hell he doesnt even have to have a good season this year (in my mind) as long as he improves along the way.
I have been saying since preseason, the Browns Defense is for real. (I still laugh in my head about the browns DC talking trash to the OC)
As far as Mayfield. I am sure DCs will adjust he will struggle along the way, but I think he is for real as well. The jets defense is supposed to be good, & the Browns Offense came in as maybe one of the worst! The Browns went from cant move the ball to dictating the rest of the game, when Mayfield came in. The fact I thought Mayfield outplayed Tyrod during preseason. Think they have a real deal there. he seems mentally strong as well, where I have never gotten that feeling with Darnold.
