49ers waived QB B.J. Daniels.

It's surprising the passing-deficient rookie made it this long on the active roster. The 49ers are reportedly signing John Skelton as their new No. 3 quarterback behind Colin Kapernick and Colt McCoy. They will presumably try to stash Daniels on the practice squad. He was a seventh-round pick in April's draft.

Makes no sense to me at all. I don't see how Skelton gives us a better chance to win than Daniels if it came down to our third QB. Plus, Daniels has/had potential. Skelton is garbage.

Jermaine Cunningham - DL - 49ers

49ers signed DE/OLB Jermaine Cunningham.

The Patriots released Cunningham with an injury settlement early last month. Cunningham appeared in 12 games for the Pats last season, making three starts. He's notched 59 career tackles and 3.5 sacks. He's a nice piece of depth for the 49ers' undermanned defensive line in the absence of Aldon Smith.

They must have seen something very disturbing about Daniels after the preason, during practices these past couple of weeks. Not making the easy throws, creating his own pressure to move out of the pocket, etc. He probably wasn't giving them the look that they needed. I think Daniels has regressed in his level of play in these last couple of weeks, which led them to make this move.

I dont care about 3rd strong as much... Skelton though, why not just keep Tozien? I rather have Tozien then...
