I am looking forward to an exchange of ideas between the Philly and Brave threads. I was told trolling team boards was a no-no, but its okay if it is done with humor (even if the humor is difficult to detect).

:bullshit:

I wouldn't consider it trolling. I like to have a little fun, but if you know anything about baseball, you'll quickly figure out that it's mostly BS

No doubt. The Phils haven't been relevant the last few years though, and with a GM refusing to rebuild, it might be several years before they're relevant again. I love it.

I was just kidding. Philly fans don't actually have any "ideas".

I remember Knoblauch having defensive issues (like Sax) but always being a good hitter (except his last season with limited abs).

Uggla's bat made Mario Mendoza look like Tony Gwynn.

uggla hasn't hit above .250 in nearly half a decade, so the dropoff is actually less shocking than knoblauch's to me.

but yeah, uggla with the 33 OPS+ is especially horrific, lol.

Ah, yes, that sounds right. Interesting to see if anyone gives him another chance.

It's a low risk move really, especially since whoever picks him up can just dump him if it doesn't pan out with no ramifications.

There's rumors the Giants are interested and the Reds do make sense.

Yeah, I can tolerate a low average if the power numbers are there, which is why I didn't mint his .230 season his first year with the Braves, but when you can't hit 20 homers or hit above the Mendoza line and your glove work is just as bad, you're not much of a player.

Someone will i'm sure. He didnt all of a sudden forget how to hit. A change of scenery is just what he needs.

It's why I liked the Mariners picking up Jason Bay last season. It didn't work out, but the Mets were paying his salary and it could have been a cheap boost to a team needing offense.

Uggla put up one of the worst offensive seasons in MLB history last year. (It was only slightly overshadowed with BJ Upton doing pretty much the same thing).

He actually hit around .290 in 2010 in his final year with the Marlins.

My thing is he will listen to the hitting coach, and it will work for him for a couple weeks, then he goes back to his long, looping swing. Hopefully he'll sign with a team that can get him to adjust his swing and stay adjusted.

yeah, I always liked the guy. He used to kill the Braves when he was a Marlin. I liked the trade when it was made... Showing up 30 minutes before the game in Chicago was something Fredi and Wren couldn't overlook.

Yeah, I loved the trade when it was made. Only giving up a middle reliever in Dunn and Omar Infante, no big prospects or anything.

Showing up late will get you in the doghouse pretty quick.(I wonder what happened when Pascal Perez missed a start because he kept circling 285 trying to get to the game)

Haha! Yeah, ol' Paco wasn't the smartest dude. At least he was trying to get there...

I'd be surprised if Uggla was juicing. He's always been a hard worker, and never really had any jumps in power or size.

I'm pretty much to the point that no one would surprise me (about juicing) anymore.

He may have been juicing since High School for all we know...

Uggla put up one of the worst offensive seasons in MLB history last year.

But he did hit 22 taters and walked 77 times. He's the kind of guy that will go 1 for 4 with a couple of K's but the one hit is a game changing 3-run homer.

Yeah. It's pretty funny, The stadium is well inside the 285 perimeter too, he really had no need to even be on 285.

I was always surprised he could strikeout 180 times and walk 77. He has had some decent walk totals in his career. I guess he would see "his" pitch and typically swing and miss.....or walk. Crazy.
