He was also first off the bench too. Did he really not start at UCF?
All jokes aside no one can criticize the Cowboys draft department. They’ve been fantastic for a decade.
What I heard (which isnt a lot) They had a change in coaching & he was in the new coaches doghouse for whatever.
But apparently when it came to a championship game they released the dog & I guess he came up big. But I honestly have no idea who he is.

Real good pick, we neglect DT every year and we need to get some talent there, plus Collins is a FA after this year. For everyone wanting safety very deep draft for them, and remember we got Woods in 6th...we still have 3rd and 2 4ths....

The Rundown: An early-entry junior, Hill was dominant for much of his college career in the American Athletic Conference. He was a second-team all-conference pick in 2017, and although he only started one game last year amid a new coaching regime, he’s considered one of better interior defensive line prospects in this year’s class. He posted career highs in total tackles (36) and sacks (3) last season as part of the tackle rotation. He was among the Cowboys' 30 allotted pre-draft visits earlier this month.

How He Fits In: The under tackle is such a critical position in defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli’s scheme. Marinelli wants athletic interior linemen who can get up the field and push the pocket, and Hill can do just that. At 308 pounds, he has the size of a nose tackle and the quickness of an under tackle. He’ll likely compete for snaps with Maliek Collins, who started when healthy last season, and free agent pickups Kerry Hyder and Christian Covington. Defensive captain Tyrone Crawford can play inside or at defensive end. Regardless, the Cowboys wanted to upgrade their defensive tackle depth and Hill is the answer.

Next Cowboys Pick: 3rd Round (90th overall)

If Miles Boykin is there at 90, will the Cowboys go WR?

Me either. And to be quite honest I know nothing about any of these guys. Don’t like the Eagles draft even though I know nothing of these guy I do know that they aren’t drafting players who can contribute right away. Hopefully they were just taking best player available. We have no one at guard or LB

The Patriots could draft Vince Papale and everybody would say it was good pick.

Maybe according to the mocks. Perhaps not at all according to the team. Think back to WR last year. They liked Gallup. People were getting upset when guys like Shark went. WE heard complaining all draft long when guys went that Dallas just didn't think were worth picking. Dallas had no interest and turns out they were right. Plus they say over and over and over they are a BPA team and that's how they draft. I'm fine with them taking talent over need personally. Fans what a day one starter but the draft is about the next 5 years and that's how they view it. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take an in the box SS around round 4 or 5 that they like

I just don't see how we can criticize their drafting because they have been fantastic at it

No criticism on my part on the pick, just stating the top safeties by rank were mostly off the board. Chauncey GJ is still on the board too. I like BPA almost every time but there are exceptions

I'll never complain at keeping the trenches fresh.
Guards are always welcome.

McGovern G/C. These guys called this move two. Obviously they have inside info
They were talking about how Williams already looks like he remade his body and may move to RT at some point

Yup and we needed to build up the OL for the future. One of or both of Smith (if back gets worse only of course) and Collins could both be gone after this year or at least soon. Need to keep replenishing and pick the talent you like. Wouldn't be surprised if the 2020 plan is McGovern at LG and Williams at RT.

I know a lot will be unhappy because neither guy is likely to start this year but I'm happy so far. Hoping for a safety in round 4 and maybe a TE/LB/RB/CB

It's only April, but possible. i keep hearing him say there was a chance he could have played late next year so I think he will be ok. but who knows. Radio guys after denying it forever from what I heard and read, now seem to be all over Williams moving to RT at some point. I swap him and Collins right now if it were my call. Collins was a better LG than RT and Williams seems to be a RT, but I guess we don't know until we see it

Well I have no idea who T.Hill is. but I got my wish.
They went with a DT.
Heard he is "always" 1st off the ball. Which if true is a good thing to hear.
With the way we have been drafting. I have to trust there is a good reason to like this guy. :thumb:
Sooo.....

I watched a bit of tape and he is very quick for a big man but looks small to be a DT.

Connor McGovern

Reliable, unspectacular guard with sound fundamentals, great balance, and good linear athleticism. Aware of stunts and delayed blitzes but can take an extra second to get to them. Not a people mover nor a space player but has a strong grip and an impressive back bend when anchoring.
