You do not watch many Caps games then.....

Well, that is a no brainer. But many non-highlight feeds I see of OV is not him setting up plays but causing turnovers by trying to force plays on his own. But I will take your word for it.

there are about 4 NHL head coach jobs Boudreau could have tomorrow. maurice and sacco especially must be on thin ice.

I wonder how quickly he gets a job. Anyone wanna place some bets? Over/Under, which team?

Also, not 100% sure removing the C from Ovechkin would do anything...but I do think that Laich is the leader on that team. That said, just because one guy is more vocal doesn't mean he's the captain, just that he's the vocal leader. OV works his butt off most nights, and that deserves the C. Can't say he works it off every night...because I just don't watch every Caps game. The only critique I have on him is that he's capable of more, just has to be a bit more well rounded. This mini-fall from grace isn't fun to watch.

Well stated. Good post.

I'm really sad to see Boudreau go. The guy did a lot of great things for this team and I hope he finds a job elsewhere. He hasn't proven he can win when it counts, but he certainly has shown he can turn a team around. Garth Snow would be smart to give him a call - that team would be perfect for him right now.

At the same time, I think a change had to be made and McPhee gave BB plenty of chances. Whether or not it was BB's fault time will tell, but also may not matter at this point.

I'm super pysched about Dale Hunter being the coach and randomly enough have tickets to tomorrow night's game. I saw the last Hanlon game, and will see the first night Hunter is behind the bench - the bookends to the Boudreau era.

Good luck to Boudreau... and let's get this shit turned around.

I doubt he's available, but Willie Desjardins (associate coach with Dallas) should get a shot at a head coaching gig in the NHL.

As for Dale Hunter, Caps legend and he's done a great job with the London Knights, he should provide a big initial bounce for Washington.

I think Ovechkin will respect Hunter unlike the fat fuck. But hunter is an even bigger hardass ... should be interesting whether the successful act Hunter used on the kids translates to the pros

I wonder if Pierre Turgeon will be considered for an Assistant Coaching job.....

I'm every bit as interested in seeing how London responds to losing their coach as I am in how Washington responds to the new coach.

I think Hunter will be a good fit there. BB set the team up, they just need a driving force... Dale may be the guy. BB was a hot head, but in a funny way. Wasn't real intimidating.
