So you think Arizona would trade a RB who is already signed and is a perfect back for the modified Air Raid to get the pleasure of breaking the bank, tip toeing Roger Goodell and that he doesn’t fit in the offense?
Yes because Zeke is a far better version of DJ, he's younger and wouldn't be that much more . Plus you'd lock him up for the same time you've got Murray under his rookie deal . Even if DJ is greet the next 2 years you can't resign him at the ( likely ) higher salary you'd need to because you'll have to have that money for Murray in 2 years . Matching terms on the contract is huge for a team with a rookie QB. Better to pay a little more now ( when you can ) and have them both 4 years from now than start over at RB the lady 2 years of Kylers rookie deal and waste them

They could let his contract play out, bring back Romo for much less and be better off....
Even then I don't see any reason honestly . Say you get 100 million guaranteed over 4 years and 124M total. Thats still less guaranteed then he'd get by getting tagged twice and then even signing for 28 million per after that with only a 60% guarantee ( 100M to 103M) . I mean it's always good to get guaranteed money since it protects you from injury but realistically how many QBs suffer career ending injuries now ?
at his age, nobody.

It'd need to be a really long deal.

Healthy Romo with a signed Zeke and Cooper would be fun to watch.

I could see signing for 6 years 180M with 140ish guaranteed. That's a reasonable deal for both and would likely be very team friendly by the end and still let Dak get a huge deal on his next contract but short term ( next 3 years ) you still couldn't resign everyone you want to if you're Dallas . The more I think about this the more I think you've got to at least explore trading Zeke

The guarenteed might not need to be that high. He's young and should bet on himself to be worth not cutting five years from now. But I'd say 125 or so still.

Just as an example, Detroit, who is looking to run, could deal Kerryon and picks. A few others would make sense too.

Yeah there are a handful of teams ( at least ) who could and would make Dallas a good deal and allow Dallas more flexibility . Obviously you'd love to keep everyone but that's not going to happen and Zekes forcing their hand.

I get why Zeke is doing it. And don't blame him it all.

Worst comes to worst for him, he shows up the week of the last preseason game, never practices, doesn't suit up and starts Week 1. He could get traded, but he wouldn't show up without a new deal and nobody is dealing for him without one. I do t think his worst case is that bad. Doubt anyone really is worked up over a RB not being at camp.

When does he lose his accrued year of service ? If he's not back by then he may as well sit the whole year

No player is worth 30 mil a year, let alone a QB that has no playoff success.

IDK about that.

Take Brady...the Pats are on national TV at least 6 times. Without TB, the Pats are probably a 9 win team...with him, the prohibitive favorite to win the SB.

That's worth $30 mil...probably more actually.

Qbs I think are better than Dak (in no particular order)

Brees
Brady
Luck
Ben
Rodgers
Rivers
Ryan
Cam
Wentz
Russ
Goff
Mahomes
Watson

That is already 13 and is he even better than Jameis, Stafford, and Baker?

Does anyone have a idea of how many details are in a contract that could be rejected even if the player basically agrees with the base number?

They throw a headline that is designed to get ad revenue up. Don't take the bait.

I'd rather be building my team around Baker

Obviously I'm biased.

Would take Dak over other two

So he is 14th in your list which is fine. Borderline a top 15 QB or just outside.

Not close to being worth the money he is asking for.
