It's actually a fairly big deal for anyone that knows memorabilia or card collecting. I have a few cards - MJ Fleer Rookie, Kris Bryant Panini 10 professional grade, Black Lotus Unlimited (Magic: TG), Alpha Mox Sapphire (Magic: TG), Jerry Rice rookie (10), Lebron James Panini 10 grade, that are worth well into the thousands. The Alpha Mox Sapphire I have is around $5,000 in value and the MJ Rookie is WELL over $25,000 (know a guy that works for a professional grading service and while I've yet to send it in for officially graded purposes, he did a quick grade for me to check authenticity and the rough grade I could get for it through Beckett/PSA) So it's DEFINITELY fraud if you're being deceitful on the authenticity of a card.

That said, anyone that gets a card back by Beckett that is fake should be auto reimbursed if they spent thousands on the card and can show a receipt. Sadly if you buy from a store and throw the receipt away or spent money on boxes it's hard to quantify or show any legit case for getting reimbursed. A judge/court cannot determine VALUE of an item. Point being, if I said, "I'll buy you a $30,000 car for your house of $100,000" and you agree to that and ACCEPT consideration, that $100,000 house is mine, even though the value is vastly different.

You might have a cause for lawsuit against Panini for fraud though, but I'm sure Panini would attempt to settle out of court with an exception official product. Not hard for them to print another version, have Dak sign it, and make sure Beckett approves it as a 10 grade.

For you non sports collectors out there, Beckett is generally the messiah of grades, because they so rarely give out 10s.
