Mike Francesca is on WFAN right now ripping into the Yankees for saying Ichiro has 4000 hits. He made the point that we do not count Hank Aaron's HRs from the ***** Leagues, we do not count anybodys stats from the Mexican League or Cuban League. He also made a point about if Ichiro was still in Seattle this would not be a story.

It's against the Giants, in their current state. As such, I like the odds of a Yankees W.. However, still a great point.

Regardless, I think they should show up and play anyway. They are big baseball fans, and, big Giants fans, so....?

Still would be a story. However, if the hype meter on this now is an 8, if he were still in Seattle, it would only be a 3.

Sadly, I can see the logic here. That being due to not only is Harvey going to be shut down, but probably so too will Zach Wheeler. I say probably, based on his i.p for the last 3 years, and knowing in general how teams now treat precious young arms. In 2011, his i.p was 115. Last year, it was 149. This year, he is up to 138, between AAA & MLB.

As such, they need to have ready 2 new arms, not just one. And, after checking their roster,...., well.......

It has more to do with injuries to current "starters" Jeremy Hefner (TJ surgery) and Jennry Mejia (enlarged labia).

Actually, Mejia is having bone spurs in his el-be-bow..

They might be shutting down the young arms, or at least limiting their innings per game (yanked in the 6th), but this move was mostly because we have absolutely no depth.

Not a thrilling move, but we need a live body.
