The 2010 census says there are over 300,000 Cherokee still in the US.
Not sure it was illegal for my great-grandfather to marry an Injun, but he sure as shit did.
So one out of every 1,000 American citizens all over the world are Cherokee Indians? They were virtually extinct but now there are 300,000 of them?
About 1,000 of them came from my graduating class. Make that 999. I was the only non-Cherokee in my class.
