So one out of every 1,000 American citizens all over the world are Cherokee Indians? They were virtually extinct but now there are 300,000 of them?

About 1,000 of them came from my graduating class. Make that 999. I was the only non-Cherokee in my class.

Pretty sure mine didnt marry the Iroquois. Our family tree gets all fucked around that time. Dont know if my last name is even what it originally was. Okay, I have a question maybe you guys can answer. Why is it everyone claims to be 1/16th Indian?

When I went to school, to a kid, not one single kid didn't claim to be 1/16th Indian.

There were like a total of 30,000 Cherokee Indians, it was a social death sentence to cohabitate with them and they've been extinct since the late 1800's but everyone claims to be part Cherokee?

Not all Cherokees died in the 1800s. Read up on the history of Cherokee, NC. If you're from North Georgia or the Carolinas....there's a good statistical chance that you have a trace cherokee indian in your blood
