I thought that might be the case. You got max value plus plus plus for Mahomes, it really comes into focus when you compare it to what you paid for Burrows. Classic examples of sell high- buy low. You have been killing it in trades my man! Kudos.
Mac Jones, a 22 #1, a 22 #2 and a swap of #1's in '23...for a top 2-3 Dynasty QB in this 16 team league? I'd say he received just about what he should've. I'd expect that much in this league, if not more, if I had Mahommes and the primary meat of the deal was draft picks. Not to disrespect T's trading prowess, as the praise is deserved, but I do think this was a pretty level deal value-wise, given the circumstances.

T got plenty, as he should,, and Chef didn't over pay..at least not imho.

The real impressive one was scoring Joe Burrow like 2 seconds before he became all the rage, for a decent, possibly below market, price

Well I guess opinions vary on that then. Obviously Chef thought it was worth it and if he can build around Mahomes he could be right because elite QBs stay effective for a good long time, so Chef has that going for him. I was mostly admiring tlance wheeling and dealing since he decided to rebuild. Top notch rebuilding job.

That is my thinking too Treff.

As you well know, I never intended to trade Mahomes. Was always going to take a massive haul.

The kicker is that femur and I started talking about a Burrow trade soon after the Mahomes deal.

Suffice to say the asking price went up a lot over the course of negotiations after Burrow’s massive end to the regular season.

It really would have been a buy low if we had finalized the deal when we first started talking.

Pick 1.8 + a low end QB2 + a possible starting RB isn’t cheap by any stretch.

Just less than I got for Mahomes. As it should have been.

Any most any other league I'd certainly agree that it was an excessive haul, maybe even grossly so. With 16 teams or more, when pretty much any random starting QB isn't being traded for anything less than a #1, and all respectable rookie QB's usually gone before the start of the 2nd round..those guys are gold.
I mean we've certainly conditioned T to expect at least that with the yearly discussions about the value of a QB2 :)

QB and TE values are much higher with 16tm leagues than smaller ones, the positions without scarcity actually end up having some scarcity, which drives prices up for those in the top 1-2 tiers.

Couple points about that. Last season there were about 12 QBs that scored in Mahomes range.

Now the above ^^^^ is a bit off of how QBs score in D2 due to our particular scoring settings, but it gives you an idea of how many QBs are in Mahomes scoring range in a PPR league and there are I'd say about a dozen or so. Also teams are thin at starting positions and most teams are starting players that are not reliable scorers and some are starting waiver wire types that makes it much harder to justify trading a haul for a single player no matter how much you may admire him. In truth a 16 team league makes it hard to do trades involving studs period, obviously not impossible but the results often leave the team who acquired the stud completely hamstrung and I speak from experience on that point.

I totally admit I could've spent those picks more wisely, but ya gotta start somewhere, right? I figure I've got around a 4-5 year rebuild ahead of me. If I play my cards right and get some good pieces, I've still got a 30 something QB who should be among the elite.

Stranger things have happened, bro. :)

Damn... I'm getting blasted on the local radio stations for the Burrow deal. I even shopped him around a little before I pulled the trigger.

Welcome to the club! :pound::pound::pound:

I know I should've paid more attention to your trade block. I'd have dealt Kyler and tried to go for Burrow too.

Now I dunno if he'll be the Cardinals QB or the A's centerfielder next year..which is exactly why I was scared of him as a rookie, but figured I'd take the chance

1 important factor I think that some are missing is the Carson/Penny pairing.

We have been talking back and forth about pairing those guys 1 way to another for a long time now.

Assuming the Seahawks resign Penny, you now have their top 2 backs.

Well, think of it this way: How many potential All Pro QBs (or other position players, for that matter) have made a successful transition?

IMO there is almost zero chance those two are both on the Seahawks roster next season. Penny has the better odds but only with a team friendly deal and Carson will be casting about as insurance for a team in need of depth. Personally I‘d be surprised if either are on the Seahawks roster, both are far too injury prone.

You would know better than me.

Makes me nervous though.

My only reliable RB at the moment is a WR!
