It is a business first and foremost. We fans need to remember that.It is just Stupidity to keep trading for these type of players and expect wins
From MLB Trade Rumors:
As is often the case with minor league contracts, catcher Stephen Vogt’s agreement with the Giants includes a June 1 opt-out chance, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle tweets. The Giants already have three backstops – Buster Posey, Erik Kratz and Aramis Garcia – occupying 40-man roster spots, which seems to decrease the 34-year-old Vogt’s odds of earning a promotion from Triple-A Sacramento. However, San Francisco’s a fan of the two-time All-Star’s bat and could summon him at some point, Schulman suggests. The former Ray, Athletic and Brewer hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2017, having missed all of last season because of shoulder surgery.
Vogt is right in Bochy's wheel house - bringing that much needed veteran presence. I would hardly be surprised if he's brought up at some point. The problem is, poor Boch is running out of 20 something position players to jettison from the roster. He's down to just Duggar, Austin and Panik. I guess the team could option Duggar to Sacramento or trade Panik for some 32 year old reliever.Juuuust what we need, an aging, left handed catcher coming off an 18 month recovery from surgery. Let's DFA Garcia, who is obviously way too young for this crucial position.
After this marathon, I'd expect DRod to be demoted and maybe Venditte or Blach to be recalled for this weekend. Then on Monday I'd expect Suarez called up to make a spot start. Then back to normal.
Giants Tyler Austin MRI comes back clean
Apparently Tyler Austin hurt his arm
Garcia is still just on the taxi squad, correct? Austin was never actually placed in the IL?
Based on the article I shared, that is my understanding.Garcia is still just on the taxi squad, correct? Austin was never actually placed in the IL?
Why not Beede? He's looked good. Blach was been rather blah with Sacramento (which isn't a bad thing in the PCL, but that makes Beede's numbers all that more phenomenal).Julie Parker @insidethepark3r 2h2 hours ago
Derek Holland has been placed on the 10-day IL retroactively to April 28 with a bone bruise to his left index finger. The #SFGiantshave called Ty Blach up from Sacramento to fill his roster spot.

Maybe they're just calling up Blach for temporary relief. No point in calling up Beede if he's going to sit for a few days and wait for his next start
