I have a feeling this injury is an “injury” and not an INJURY!!. We need a roster spot for Su...arez, and there are no obvious demotions that don’t hurt the bully or leave us with a short bench. Let Cueto take a rotation off to rest or whatever and let Su...arez settle in with back-to-back starts to see what he has.

Sure. But they could have called it anything they wanted to call it. And the timing is convenient.

It could be legit bad. I have no idea and am not making a prediction. I am just pointing out the convenience of the timing and the problem that existed with the roster coming into this game (which I pointed out about a week ago).

If I hadn’t already anticipated the roster crunch that was coming today, I would be more concerned. But since I knew SOMETHING had to be done today, this just checks that box.

Sounds like Mac will be ready on Saturday, so the Giants will carry an extra pitcher today and Friday, then (presumably) send down Snelten on Saturday for Mac.

It's worth noting that Cueto has been pitching with this, and effectively. Giants are going to see if they can avoid surgery. Tanaka, on the Yankees, went through a similar thing and skipped surgery. He's remained pretty effective through it all. This was in 2015 IIRC.

Then again, I think Cain tried to do the same thing, and his career derailed. Then again, Cain had a TON of miles on his arm at that point already.

IDK if this is a baseball god's joke or what, but Mac Williamson has some sort of virus and is not guaranteed to return today. Says it could possibly be related to the concussion.

Mac won't be activated anytime soon, per Boch. At this point he's going to have to go down to AAA to get his timing back.

Also Roberto Gomez, Steven Okert, Chase Johnson and Tyler Herb are all on the MiLB DL. That leaves Tyler Beede and Derek Law as the only pitchers available on the 40-man.... that is unless they want to call up Ray Black
