I suspect he will be DFA’d by us within 2 weeks. They just want him in the system to help w Hunter or make him happy.

I am sure they would be thrilled if he actually does something himself (that is possible), but that likely wasnt the deciding factor in the claim.
I just don't get why another outfielder. Once these guys get healthy, they are going to have too many of them. Personally, I'd rather see Heliot Ramos (whose brother played briefly with Sacramento a few years ago, and crashed hard offensively, which was disappointing as his career was the opposite of Braden's, decent minor league numbers but no big league call up) or Vince Fernandez in AAA.

The Giants claimed RHP Trevor Hildenberger from the Mets. He's a reliever with 134 big league appearances over four years, he'll go to Sacramento. Tommy La Stella goes on 60-day IL, so he can't return until July.

Think Alvarez or Dotel gets sent down when they call up Kazmir or Trop?
I don't think Alvarez has any options and Dotel retired a few years ago. Only Doval or Selman have options (so do Baragar and Rogers but that would just be stupid to send either of those two down).
Maybe Belt goes on the IL. But someone has to come off the 40 man roster to make room too. Is it too early to expect Braden Bishop to get dfa'd?

DOVAL....right. I'd think he goes down, Kazmir comes up.

Guess we'll see.

Well, I guess we know who our starter is tomorrow.
Roster Resource has it listed as Kazmir. No idea how/why they list their their projected starters, but there you have it...

It could be that Tropeano is coming in as long relief and another move will be made tomorrow for Kazmir?
No clue. No idea what kind of weight should be placed on the accuracy of RR’s projected starters.

This article suggests that it is certainly a possibility Kazmir is called up to start and Tropeano could be the long man if Kazmir poops his pants.
