Yes, but per capita, you will find more individuals wearing jerseys in Pittsburgh on any given day than any other city in America.

Most cities rate restaurant dress on black tie, dress, or casual. Pittsburgh has fancy jersey, jersey, and practice jersey.

Giveaway jersey is a tier below practice jersey. That's when we're really slummin' it.

It's for buying Slim Jims and Corn Nuts at the 7-11.

Okay, so help me out for the next time I'm in Pittsburgh. Is the following correct...

Giveaway jersey - trips to convenience and grocery stores, Pizza Hut
Practice jersey - fast food restaurants, low end sit down places
Jersey - TGIFriday's, Chili's, Shenaniganz, other chain sit down places, Arby's
Fancy/retro jersey - really nice, downtown restaurants
Logo-sewed on polo - 5-star restaurants

Pittsburgh Take-out :L

(In actuality, as a bit of a foodie, I have been shocked at how diverse and damn good the culinary experience is here in Pittsburgh. Tony Bourdain needs to make a trip. The strip is my hangout.)

Yeah a little bit of a well-kept secret here. The only place people talk about in Pittsburgh is Primanti's and I'm not a huge fan. Lawrenceville/the Strip are where it's at!

I actually brought up that particular combination of snacks because my asshole friends like them and ate them in the van on our way to Canada. Worst smell ever.

I have eaten sushi all over the world, and the guy who has that little stand (Andy, I think) right inside of Wholey's is one of the best out there. Also, I have to eat at Spice Island in Oakland at least once a week. I like Primanti's but I like the sit down ones out in Pleasent Hills and North Versailles where I can order pizza.

Piccolo Forno has the only pizza I've had remotely close to the pizza I ate in Italy. It's not exactly the same. But damn close.

7-11?!?!? is that not blasphemy... I thought WePa (western PA) revovled around Sheetz.

There are still 7-11's and Getgo's everywhere.

For the record, where I grew up (Shaler), there is still no Sheetz as far as I know.

I've been out of the area for about a decade now, so I haven't been to either one.. but my family loves sheetz... the shmonster I think it is called...

The only place I have to eat when I get back to WePa is Jim's Drive-In HotDogs in West Mifflin...

Anyone know it?

Wait... what was this thread about again?

It's been around for 75 yrs or so... you order at the window and eat in your car.

2600 Skyline Dr, West Mifflin, PA 15122... basically take river run road (885 maybe) the road kennywood is on, take that towards dravosburg. When you get to, center street I believe, the big hill with all those dips, made of bricks, before the mckeesport bridge... you take that and make a left on top of the hill and follow that until you get to Jims...

"Jim's is amazingly popular with the locals and has been in business since the 1920s. The legend goes, that the H.J. Heinz Company once offered the founders of Jim's a million dollars for their secret hot dog sauce, but was turned down..... it wasn't a million dollars, but they did turn down a substantial amount."

That is not far from me at all, and I love tubed meatparts (insert joke here). I will have to try it out. Thanks!

Cheesedog with onions and sauce is the go to dog. I have taken many friends, girl friends, co-workers (I worked at kennywood for a few years, and the steel mill) there over my years and not one person has not gone back on their own. You will love them.
