So after Grioux kinda called Sid out for all his hacking which led to his eventual wrist surgery, he finally replied.

Crosby: 'We definitely have something to prove' - 10-17-12

I don't try to go after his wrists but if I caught it, I'm not sorry for it. I think it's hilarious I hear that stuff from Philly. It's comedy to me to be honest with you. They're probably involved in that stuff more than any team in the league and they're the ones always talking about it. I guess I'm not apologetic. I was trying to win a faceoff and if I caught his wrist, then I caught his wrist. He seemed to play okay so I couldn't have hurt him that bad.

I think my irony meter is off the charts.

I like to think Crosby has a nice, festering skidmark on his chest still after this series.

I find this funny because if Crosby was the recipient of the broken wrist from Giroux the entire hockey world would be up in arms if G responded like this. However since it's Crosby there doesn't seem to be too much being made of his comment. If i remember correctly G was constantly getting slashed away from the play which is part of why B. Schenn started targeting Crosby and Cooter started playing Malkin much more physically. It's all good though cause once the NHL comes back someone will hold Sid accountable on the ice for these comments.

Also he might want to prove he isn't a dirty, whiney little bitch:ss:

For the love of...that was the world's longest interview and this is the only thing people see. Also, I personally enjoy this sassy version of Captain Robot.

I think this is what people see because it shows a problem in the game of hockey today and that's lack of respect between players. Anyone who watched the series knows how bad Crosby & Malkin slash people. This was taken a step further by the blatant head targetting of Cooter and Giroux by Neal. I'm not saying the Flyers were clean, B Schenn threw one hell of a beautiful crosscheck on Crosby as retaliation.

I'm all for gamesmanship and what not, but saying you're not sorry you hurt another player in a public interview is just wrong.

Funny, this is brought up in the very same interview. Basically Sid said he wished this stuff stayed on the ice, but realizes that in today's world the media is always involved. Pretty much he said he wished the crap stayed between players and didn't become a battle of quotes in the newspaper.

This lockout needs to end... we need real news.

I find this funny because if Crosby was the recipient of the broken wrist from Giroux the entire hockey world would be up in arms if G responded like this.

If the positions had been exchanged and Crosby was complaining about Giroux slashing his wrists, I'm sure your opinion would be switched too.

Or if it had been anybody except Crosby (and maybe Malkin), the media wouldn't bring it up over and over again.

The fact is, Sid isn't the cleanest player around, but it's not like he two-handed Giroux and knocked him out of the series. Giroux continued to play (exceptionally well) and still played in a subsequent series. Half the players in the league have similar injuries when the playoffs finish.

Nah, shouldn't be on the ice at all. I'm all for gamesmanship, and yeah, Giroux played the next series, but come on. Crosby broke both of Giroux's wrists. Now if Giroux was trying to win the faceoff by leaning over and grabbing the puck, that'd be understandable, but don't bullshit us. If faceoff attempts were that big a hazard you'd have this happen more often. If Crosby's attempts were clean he wouldn't have gotten BOTH of Giroux's arms. If you wanna toss in a couple of cheap shots, fine, you're an asshole, but fine. Tap a guy's thigh or his calf, give him a little hit after the whistle, whatever. Stay away from joints and other key injury areas - like wrists or knees or ankles.

Funny thing is before this I didn't think Crosby was a total punk. Oh, I sure as fuck didn't like him, but if you'd offered me a trade for pretty much anyone but G I would have said yes. Now? Penguins can keep him. I just hope the next time he plays Giroux breaks his wrist again - punching Crosby in the face.

And yeah, fuck the instigator.
