don't disagree with the top part, but from what the repots have said the bold is wrong. Reese and the Flyers "parted ways" because Reese was standing up for Mason. Reese didn't like how the Flyers were using a pretty banged up Mason and was vocal about it. Sounds like the Flyers didn't like that he wasn't getting line and he's gone.
Mase and Reese, from all accounts, were very close.
Can't forget Dominic Roussel...
I was basing a lot of my comments on experience here, and as I said I didn't know/care. I have long said I hoped Mase had fixed his issues and could be productive.
But the comments I heard from him sounded like the old Mase. And didn't give the impression he cared for Reese all that much. Probably just the way it was framed up.
But if management had a problem with Mason and Reese got canned standing up for him? That's worse.
No one can.
/Actually liked Soderstrom. He was a hoot to watch.
Cechmaniac was always fun
When you think of it he really paved the way in philly for Bryz years laterMooger called him the Bi-Polar Goaler
With all due respect, that's off base - Mase was not sounding whiny or acting like a petulant child - he truly was close with Jeff Reese and I think he was so shocked about it that it was hard for him to truly get a feel for why it happened
That's fair. As I said, I viewed the comments with a particular lens and likely saw more than was there.
But the point stands, if management has an issue with Mason and Reese got fired over it. This is probably not going to end well.
I think it's more player (and as a result, his coach) having an issue with the head coach. Hopefully the schmuck gets fired after the season and we don't have to worry about it. I can't imagine they plan on retaining him this offseason.

Let's not forget he's still around despite all evidence to the contrary stating he shouldn't be.
