I would not trade him for just a second round pick, let alone a 3rd. I'd trade him for a 3rd and a conditional pick in 2015 that ranges from round 3 to round 1.

There is some discussion of this over on the Rams board. Interesting takes. I would hate to see Cousins traded before the end of the year. But you'd have to consider it, with the right draft picks. I still see the necessity of having a back up QB that can actually give your team a shot to win. Look at the injuries that are happening every week. Where are the Rams now? Do we know yet whether Griff can stay healthy now that he's back to running like a mad man? He has yet to prove that he can consistently make smart decisions every time he runs. Not sold on Rexy as being our #2 at all. And he's overpaid to be inactive week after week, IMO.

I don't see this happening, but if they were to give us a #1 today for Kirk, I'll help pack his bags. The risk with RG3 for this season is worth it. Let's be honest, we probably aren't doing anything in the post season this year except watching other teams. But with a 1st in next year's draft, we can get a top notch safety, CB or even WR that would be a game changer. Or we could trade it for 2 seconds and get a couple of top OL or a top rated ILB and a top rated OL. In short, good deal if it would happen.

Sexy is on a 1 year $960,000 contract ... think that is a league minimum for a veteran.

I use the term overpaid more from the perspective of always being inactive and taking a roster spot and less from the actual $ amount, but I do understand where you are coming from.

Btw Krush, what's your take on Rex?

He's a nice insurance policy. A necessity if & when Cousins is traded. He's smart, knows the scheme, just has more confidence then physical ability.

But, he's a good dresser ...

How about we bundle Cousins and Davis for a 2014 first from the Rams?

i think a 2nd/3rd would be the best we'd get for cousins ATM

not sound like a broken record, but IMO, Cousins is off the table until the knee brace comes off ... and by that time Fred will be a FA

Not if we can get a 1st today. You can't pass that up. Anything less, and I agree with you.

It's very tempting. But as long as there is a "chance" of going to the playoffs, & Griffin is wearing the knee brace, I dont think Cousins is on the table.

Once we get to loss 8 we can pack it in, call it a year, and start moving pieces for the draft.

Given that Davis will be a FA at the end of the year, drew little interest last offseason, has not had a chance to display anything this season & is one toke away from a 1 yr suspension what in the world makes you believe that he has any real trade value? Let's be real here - at most he might garner a 7th round pick (and up the value of a Cousins trade very little).

Most likely the Rams pick (either their own or the one obtained from the Skins) will be pretty high. You are going to need to offer them much more than that. People forget that draft picks are worth much more in the rookie cap era.

I'll bet any of you proponents to trading Cousins 700 vCash that he doesn't get traded this year. Anyone want to take me up?

With the current OL, what makes anybody think Cousins would make it through a game?

True. However - on the flip side - the NFL trade deadline is a week away. That will be the last chance to trade anyone before the offseason. Given your statement above - this (along with the current style of play) would indicate that RG3 is still at risk. I just cannot imagine that they are ready to trade Cousins within the next 7 days. They have stated absolutely nothing to indicate that they would. This is pure fan speculation.

See my statement above. "This year" means within the next 7 days. Anyone would have to be a fool to take that bet (could always happen but very unlikely). You better give at least 10-1 odds if you want to make this bet.

He will play out his contract. I'm pretty sure about that.

Socal, there is nothing that makes me believe that anyone will give us anything for fred other than maybe a throw away pick. Just as I don't think we will ever get a 1st for Kirk. But a guy can dream, can't he?
