I personally would not mind this at all. Humble pie for RG3 and and we get to hopefully increase KC's value.

Geezzz Dean, KC is not the franchise QB, Griffin is. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you will accept going into next year, Griffin is our guy. Shanahan's presser today said as much as he wants to protect Griffin from any further injury. They are looking for KC to play well so they can trade him this off season. It's as simple as that.

Not going to happen guys. If Shanny comes out Wednesday and says Cousins will start the rest of the season, 20 minutes later he will be fired. Even if they have to name the QB coach interim HC, this week was the first and last time we see Griffin benched this season.

Dean... problem there is, if Cousins had started out the season 3-1,and RG3 came in and started sucking, how do you justify not benching him then?? It really was an all or nothing deal sadly. And at this point, no way does Cousins get to start because on the off chance that he does well. That would raise the kind of questions no one in Ashburn wants to answer ever.

What does seem obvious is that Shanny is most definitely setting the groundwork for Cousins to finish out the year. It'll be interesting to see how Danny boy responds. I guarantee you, the spin resulting, will make it almost impossible to know what the true discussions and happenings are and were.

But is raises the RIGHT questions. You would justify benching rg3 by blaming the injury and he is not 100% healthy. It was a win win situation for the organization but we blew it.

Prove others wrong - seriously? It's not about hind sight regarding the beginning of the season, it's about the BIG picture. I even agree that we would have been better served to have started cousins initially, given hindsight, but ONLY because Griff was not truly healthy and ready to go.

All this year - now this is OTT. How can you not agree and understand that a Rookie QB doesn't improve, unless he gets action on the field. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

the other question is what if KC goes out and stinks up the joint ? what does that do to trade value ? you assume that he will shine . he was in for less then a quarter and he was sacked and completed less then 50 % of his passes .

Dad, you can not seriously judge a QBs play based on him getting inserted late in the midst of a blow out. Every one on the planet knows at that point you can do nothing but pass in order to make the score look even respectable at the end of the day. Its also isnt a given that he will stink either. But it does serve to possible damage the look and credibility of the starter if the backup comes in with less of a roster and performs even decently. The concept that Shanahan has no horse in this race is flawed as well. Right now its assumed that no one could win with the rest of the players around RG3, proving that wrong would go a long way towards pointing out that the talent was there. And yes it is all about the blame game at the moment. As i have said, the worst outcome from an RG3 support standpoint would be Cousins starts, Cousins wins and looks good doing it with two teams still on the Schedule that have every reason to play hard. The whole damaging the relationship with the QB angle goes out the window, unless he is that insecure that he will hold it against the organization for the coach which they plan to fire for doing what he thinks is best for the team.

If I was the HC (I could I did win a fantasy league ) I would start Cousins the rest of the season and tell in this order Snyder, RG3, Cousins, then the media that since the playoffs cant be reached that I am sitting RG3 to avoid any chance of getting our franchise QB hurt. I would like to give Cousins a shot to see what he has in him and to evaluate the talent on the roster. I would then say RG3 will be our starting QB next year no matter what.

There is no chance KC is the starter in Washington with a healthy RG3.
