My challenge if I am a coach or teammate to Sutton would be to go out and be a dog... Play angry. Don't be satisfied with just a touchdown. Sutton has a ton of talent as we have seen it... Now start paying attention to detail and go be a DAWG!!!

If true, that's not a horrible deal based solely on the fact that it is only a 3 year deal.

yep to a point . you add in a full year of stats next year say 1,400 yrd and maybe it would be higher ...

Our first 2 games was not good and even next two were not great either . get a full season of Bo playing lights out..I can see 1,400 yards

Its probably true enough. His extension numbers reportedly are in the 2-3years, 20-25 million per year.

After thinking about it I like it ... I bet he gets way more yards this year.

How do we think of Sutton now after he has had a career year w Nix and helped a struggling WR room to the playoffs?

Seemed to me like Nix was forcing it to Sutton. Could be different reasons for that but it's worth paying attention to. Let him play out this year under his current contract and see what he does to earn another couple of years.

To be clear: I question his effort, his heart. It's up and down and has been for a while. He's got a QB that will get it to him so let's see what he's got at the end of his career and evaluate our entire WR room in the process.

Isn’t that what we did last year? We didn’t give him a new contract, just built in some incentives. From everything I read (and that’s my only way to get information, some of it good and maybe some of it not so good) Sutton has been an outstanding teammate and is highly respected. I’ll be disappointed if her doesn’t get a new contract.

Better now that he has a QB. Still not a #1, IMO. Really good #2 But if you have a good 1,2,3 then it comes down to how you use them with their skillset so not saying you can't make it work with him as your "#1", he just needs to be more consistent to be SUPER excited about him. I love how he handles himself.. Through all the years with a cruddy offense he never pointed fingers like we saw others. Could have made so many excuses and he ever did. He took ownership when he wasn't making plays. I want him to stick as a Bronco but he isn't super duper amazing. I still want to see more DAWG in him but if last year is as good as it gets we can't complain much. The fumbles get to me a bit. Overall play I am fine with for the most part just don't think he is a true #1 and like I said that is fine if the others around him are producing opening things up for him. When you have to depend on him too much is where we will run into trouble. He isn't Justin Jefferson or Jemar Chase but not many are and we don't have to have him be super elite to be productive if the stuff around him is clicking.

This would pretty much be what I would say as well. Broncos definitely need Vele, Franklin, and Mims all to take another step forward to really maximize this offense. Nix did depend on Sutton a little too much, but that is in part the rest of the WR core was tough to trust. Sometimes running wrong routes, drops, and Nix didn't have the timing with them that he did with Sutton this past season. Adding Engram will help open some things up and of course whoever we add at RB should help as well, but those other guys need to prove to Nix they can be trusted in the biggest moments to be where they are supposed to be and will come down with the ball.

One nice thing is we do see a lot of rookies struggle with these things and then show huge improvement in year 2. Heck Sutton falls into that category. A lot of drops earlier in his career, but once the game slowed down most of that began to disappear. I would still love to add someone. Maybe not through the draft, but free agency still has names like Cooper and Allen that are great route runners and can be trusted to be where you need them to be.

If we're going by last year then he's really not worth keeping around past this season. He's not a bad WR. But he's not all that great, either. Not a cornerstone of the passing game unless he's surrounded by guys who are struggling and the ball has to be forced to him. He's going to be 30 years old this season. He's not going to get more dynamic. He is what he is...and he's declining.

I think we will see Mims step into a WR 1 rile this year and Vele will progress nicely, I think sutton might fall Into a wr 2 behind mims and I would love to see it. 2 completely different wrs, Mims is fast and shiny who can stretch the field and make something outta nothing, meanwhile Sutton is more of an all around guy and he can go up and get the ball, I would like to see Franklin step up but I don't know if he will considering he will more then likely be wr 4 or 5 and probably the 6th option. All in all I agree with this.

I think the big thing right now is yes Sutton is not a #1 WR but the Broncos need him big time. They do not have another WR on the roster that can do most of what he does on a regular basis. So with Nix on a rookie contract I think you can afford to overpay him a little at this time to keep the WR room together and building chemistry with Nix.
