June 23, 2006 is when Luongo was traded to the Canucks but tonight is the anniversary of the Night before the Draft he was traded. I picked up Mooger for a Golf Weekend and I think the Draft itself if I remember correctly and broke the news to him. I remember the look of disbelief in his eyes lol.

Feaster found a gem in Bartschi at #13 last year, can he unearth another at #14 this draft? I like the size of Radek Faksa (6"2 1/2 and 203 lbs) although the name Zemgus Girgensons is tough to ignore.

Aaron Twatzline has been fucking this dog all week. First he stated that the Jackets MUST find a goalie and the only good one available is Luongo, therefore the Jackets have to trade Nash for him.

Then he said that the Jackets will trade Nash an LA's pick to Edmonton to pick first and Second. In the same post, he states that the Jackets will also refuse to draft a Russian. So, I guess, in his mind, this is the PERFECT draft to have first and second overall when you hate drafting Russians.

I can only hope the meeting is to get an idea of how much "re-tooling" has to be done yet, and if Nash will really benefit from standing by the team. If Cap Geek's toys are spot on, draft Grigorneko (or Yakpov of EDM shits the bed) and sign Langkow and Doan and get a good enough goalie (like Hedberg). It could work.

If Howson says "We're going to pick Murray or Forsberg at #2, and trade Umebrger in a package to get Chris Mason" then Nash should go. He deserves more.

The ONLY thing he should trade is the pick. If EDM takes Nail, he should trade the pick for a first round swap and goalie. Bernier? Lehner? Biron? Hell, I'd even take Bobrovski at this point. Anyone but Mason. He is Jim Carey 2.0

According to Isles Point Blank 44% of all mock drafts have Murray going to the Isles. Of course 36% of them have Murray going to the Blue Jackets. These people will never learn. They had Fowler going to the Isles in 2010. They had Hamilton going to the Isles last year. Garth never makes the consensus pick. He also likes forward early. If the top three forward are off the board I expect Bettman to announce a trade down possibly with Minny or Carolina. They both seem to want to move up.

I do know one thing if Pierre McGuire is right & the Isles take Griffen Reinhart at 4. Garth will be able to hear the boos & nasty things being said about him from the Isles draft party all the way in Pittsburgh.

Spent the morning with some NHL scouts. They think its 50/50 Ryan Murray is drafted first overall

lol... so considering Nail is far and away everyone's number one prospect in the draft,
that logically only leaves the 50/50 odds that the Oilers' brain trust do something retarded.

I would think a young offensive defenceman would be what the Isles need. They have some young forwards who could develop, so there is already some upside there.
