I was predicting anywhere from 6-9 wins for Michigan this season, basically covering worst and best case possible coming into the season IMO. Obviously, they look to be at worst now at least an 8 win team(worst case losing to NW, MSU, and OSU) but I don't think they lose all three since they are all at home. At PSU could be a tricky game, but they aren't very good. With that said, I still don't think this team has elite talent on the roster(outside of Peppers and Butt), which I think is being fair. Just speaks to how good of a job Harbaugh is doing.
PSU has a decent defense but I don't see them generating much offense vs OSU, UM or MSU.

I don't know if I would call "6-9 wins" a prediction. That's like predicting the high temperature in Atlanta today will be between 60 and 90 degrees. It's pretty much next to impossible to lose with that prediction with a team in the B1G, outside of significant injuries. :D

U haven't played anyone yet. I will give credit better then I thought. Over all still not much talent on that team to play against some of the top teams.

We'll see how the season plays out, but BYU seems like a pretty good team. They beat Boise St, Nebraska, and lost to the #10 UCLA by one point.

As I've pointed out before, this is hardly the first time in recent memory that michigan has started off hot, only to fizzle down the stretch.

That's a good call. Both RR and Hoke had great starts IIRC, only to crap the bed once the B1G season kicked into full swing.

That was where I started my baseline for them. Anything less than 6 and more than 9 I would have been surprised by. I'm not leaning on the higher end of that baseline with 8/9 wins.

Agree that O-Line is a dumpster fire and are ruining their QB! The only silver lining for PSU is their recruiting looks like a good class coming.

UofM is a tougher team under Harbaugh. Both Hoke and Rich Rod had soft finesse style teams that ended up getting pushed around. Michigan may not beat OSU or MSU this season but neither team will push the Wolverines around like they have done in the past.

Harbaugh has taken a talented team that had not been coached up to the point of realizing that talent by Hoke and has made them competitive.

2 losses is good though, especially since they were in the shitter just last year.

I think you're speaking of offensive playmakers, which we don't have a lot of, but we seem to have plenty of talent, and probably more than a few NFL players, on defense. We've played enough people to know it's not "going to be a long season for Michigan".

How did the out talenting Utah prediction work for you?

Utah did pretty but ultimately it was too tough of a team to open the season with. I suspect if that game was flipped with Oregon State, it might have turned out differently for us.

We've started out "hot" record wise, but we've never started off with one of the top 5 ranked defenses through 5 games. I can't even remember the last time we came close -- maybe 2006? Even then, I don't think the defense was ranked as high, even this early in the season.

When's the last time you faced a quarterback that was half way decent? Week 1?

Not all of us can face Austin Appleby this early in the season. Fact is, there's not many good quarterbacks this year -- even nationally. Within the conference, none of them have been great. It's not like there's some great QB version of Leonard Fournette we're going to face this year. And BYU, despite being a backup, has a pretty darn good QB. One of these games is not like the other:

I'll be more interested in seeign how Michigan is next year. Everyone knew the defense would salty. The offense has improved. This is a seasoned team with a ton of seniors. Michigan fans would know more about this, but it seems like next year will be a transition year
