You now inherit the Cubs' title for longest drought in professional sports. Just a year shy of the Cleveland Indians at 1947.

Is that really worse than teams like Jacksonville that have never won? Is 69 years considered a worse drought than never?:noidea:

thoughts?

I think so. I think the Indians drought now is worse than the Rangers drought. It means there are more fans that have never seen a championship in their life of following. JAX has only had fans of their team for a fraction of the time.

That drought isn't ending soon either, Palmer looks washed up.

As a lifelong, suffering Washington Capitals fan I say absolutely not.

does never winning a championship count as a "drought"?

Right, because finding a solid rookie never happens.

It does happen, but look at the past 20 years for evidence of how hard it can be for teams to find solutions at QB.

It's all relative.

It ain't easy. You look at Wilson, Wentz & Prescott and they have one thing in common: Intellegence.

We may be experiencing a paradigm shift. Great teams misssing a quality QB have a better shot at being successful with an intelligent rookie.

I have supported the Cards through very little thick and a whole lot of thin. I had huge hopes for them this year. It's amazing when shit goes sideways how you start to question everything (and I'm talking about me. A true fan).

Can Palmer do it? I don't think so.
Where is the offense? One of the best RB's in the NFL with so many other weapons and nothing to show for it.
Defense? Can be world beaters one week then average the next.
Arians? This is the first real adversity he has faced as a head coach and I don't think the team is responding to him through this stretch. Does his system have staying power in today's NFL? Is his health an issue? Is he to stubborn to change? Etc.

The NFL can be a fickle bitch. I want to believe shit changes after the bye, but with what I have seen thus far combined with all the injuries... Pipe dreams.

Regardless, true cards fans have tough skin for obvious reasons. And like @Arizona_Sting said... Still love my Cardinals. :finger:

Yeah this year is harder as we had high expectations. All the years of them being mediocre or bad wasn't as had on the emotions as this year. Been a fan since they moved here and will always be a fan.
