Rex will be the fan favorite from day 1. Book it.

Whether or not he's any good is a different story. I'd like to see him do well but I have a feeling his physical limitations will prove difficult to overcome in the league. I'm fairly sure that's why he was a 6th rounder.

Bernard Scott is f'n toast.

that's what this draft pick means.

....

Peerman has a shot at staying just because of his special teams contributions.
but if we can find a RB who can make yards and 1st downs he's clearly on the outs.
Leonard signed with Tampa
Heron is irrelevant, he's proved as much.

This is as it should be. It's about damned time they cut bait on Scott.

If they keep four backs one will be a FB (Pressley) which means Peerman could also lose his job, especially if Rex can contribute on special teams.

I'd be shocked if he makes the team.

I think the only way Herron sticks is if he beats out Peerman. I think both guys are terrific on special teams and limited as running backs. I'm actually a big fan of both as I'm a big believer in having a few ST guys - It was a strength for us last year. I just don't see how we can keep two of those guys.

I think we keep BJGE, Bernard, Pearman and Herron. Burkhead goes on the PS and Scott gets cut.

Don't they usually keep four including the fullback? Or four plus the fullback? Or maybe four including the fullback is all they usually dress?

I'm just a little confused.....

4 plus the FB I think, but I could be wrong.

1 fullback and 3 tailbacks..... There is normally another running back on IR, PUP, or PS that eventually gets moved up due to injury.

I don't think they keep Scott over either and I don't think we keep Burkhead either.

Disregard my other post. This is correct. We did keep a fourth last year as we had Peerman for ST. When Scott went down we didn't immediately replace him, though we eventually brought up Boom.

Yeah, I think Scott is definitely gone unless there is an injury.

Burkhead will be interesting -- He's probably a PS player.

Though he seems like the ideal replacement for Leonard doesn't he? Has a lot of the same skills.

We Keep the following:

BGE
Gio
B Scott
Peerman

We keep Conner or Pressley and Orson moves to H back/FB....

Burkhead is PS and Herron is released.....

On pass Pro Peerman and BGE will help out and Scott has improved...

If Scott is healthy he makes the team and will move back to Kick off returns.....

Hue wants a training camp with B Scott if healthy.....stay tuned this is far from over....

Lets see

we have:
BJGE
Giovanni Bernard

those 2 are a given

Chris Pressley
He makes the team, period

that leaves one rb spot for:
Burkhead,Peerman,Scott,and Herron

Burkhead is probably eligible for the PS, and the Bengals don't like rushing rookies into their offense, so mark him off.

Heron probably can't beat Peerman's special teams contributions, although he's no slouch.

The only reason Bernard Scott is on the team is because he's not a rookie, he gives "veteran presence"; however, it really isn't needed since we have BJGE. Scott is taking up a roster spot that will eventually be filled by either Peerman, Rex Burkhead, or Herron, there just isn't enough room for Scott's geriatric slow no longer himself ass.

My thought is Peerman makes the team (due to special teams), Burkhead to practice squad, and Herron is either also put on the practice squad after he clears waivers, or he is cut, unless someone gets injured.

We keep 4 RB and a FB. Hereon and Pearman offer ST ability that Scott doesn't. We keep both of them.

well, that would work.

I have a hard time believing they would keep Herron over Scott as they are love with his ass something awful, but it would make since.

Scott was insurance in case we couldn't get a RB in the draft. He's gone.
