I'll give it a shot. The negativity and the trolls are getting to me over at the other place anyway. It's baseball. It is supposed to be about having some fun. Sometimes people forget that the objective as fans is to be entertained.
In order for Young to get to 3000 he needs to play at his current level for 5 more years. Will be difficult to do but is possible. Being a DH now might actually increase his offensive productivity a bit and help him extend his career some. But what 2000 means and what 3000 would mean is that the guy has been a very productive major league player for a long time and has had the privilege to play every day now for 10 years. Not many guys get that privilege. Quite an accomplishment.
