Conacher on waivers, should we claim him?

I think it would make sense. As much as we need D, I think we could use a forward especially one who could play in the top 6/9. I think Yzerman should bring him in. Things didn't work out for him in Ottawa but there's no harm bringing him back for nothing. He knows the team, he knows the coach, he knows the system. Lines :

Conacher-Stamkos-Marty
Killorn-Val-Purcell
Palat-Johnson-Kucherov
Malone/Brown-Thompson-Crombeen

I really like the idea of bringing him in. He gives you that more added punch we need, he adds speed, he has played with several of these players so he has chemistry. Also having another youngster would give Yzerman more flexibility to go and add at the deadline. I think adding Conacher makes guys like Panik and Connolly more expendable if Yzerman wanted to address the blueline as well.

Brain Lawton has twitted that Brett Connolly name is in play.

If Yzerman has Connolly in play I think this means he's after a top 2/4 d man, could be Edler?

He is small but adding a another skilled top 9 winger which we need for free is something i'd be interested in if I were GM.

My guy Andy MacDonald is off the board, he's a flyer for a 2nd and 3rd round pick, what a steal.

Conacher, I wouldn't take. Where does he even resemble a defenseman? That's what this team needs is D, not another forward. Unless Drouin needs someone to hold his hand in Juniors. Otherwise, Conacher got this team what it needed. A number 1 net-minder!!!!!!
