TKO, I spent quite a bit of time trying to swing something for Profar yesterday. Just couldn't seem to come up with the right fit. Kinda hard to see where the Rangers are going. Are they gonna deal him? Are they gonna deal Andrus? Will they send Profar down and let him stew? I think sending him down would be a mistake, but keeping him up just to sit on the bench is even worse, so who knows? :noidea:

In any event, I think he's a good dynasty piece.

I've had a few offers, but nothing major. I'm not selling low that's for sure. Swap Upton for Profar and that was the offer to milk (I know he won't mind me saying). Was looking for deGrom and change.

I prefer tho one as it allows me to keep Profar now and for the long haul.

As to the Rangers. Looks like Moreland is banged up slightly, so there's breathing room. If he plays like he can, they won't keep him off the field. If he's traded, it better be for someone better than Odorizzi for their sake... but I think he flourishes where ever he lands.

Maybe not as good as Altuve/Machado, but right there, imo.

I think Fulmer is legit! Doesn't have the innings limit for this season that I'll need, but hated letting him go. But he was my only real piece left for dealing arms. Hammel lost his value so I might as well hold on and hope the Cubs get him wins.

Hope Trumbo doesn't fall off like second halves before... something about Baltimore though.

In any event, not sure what Biscuit's remark was about.

Meh. He did alright getting JDMart and Blackmon from me. Not to mention he has said repeatedly that he thinks draft picks are overvalued.

He sure does.

I was all ready to defend Fulmer's honor... if Upton goes crazy, so be it. Chance I'm willing to take.

I am a little offended... but my anger to you will pass once Chef gives me a cake rating... so basically this post is another milkian attempt to get a cake...

Funny thing is, I didn't like Upton even before this season. Dude has burned me once too often in the past.

The thought of having Fulmer and Rodon in a dynasty was too damn tempting to pass up. And I needed the picks.

@TKOSpikes @SmokingMonkey @Barilko

Did you guys see the new AHL rules?
The article mentioned they were significant since the NHL usually adopts the AHL rule changes.
  • Teams can't take their time out after an icing call.
  • Fights prior to, during, or after a puck drop also result in a game misconduct penalty. (So basically after a whistle, and before the puck is put into play again, there's zero tolerance for fights.)
Love 'em.

Same.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good fight, but there really isn't a place for it in today's NHL anymore.

A couple years ago, the Wild hurt Oshie towards the end of the season, brought in a dude that hadn't dressed in over 6 weeks. Not a coincidence imo, and sure as shit, Blues ended up matched with a hot Wild team in the first round and got knocked out. Good move to push the goons out. Plenty of opportunities for hard, clean hits in hockey, don't need to cheap stuff and fights. Loved his spirit, but watching Barrett Jackman his last few years in STL were getting unbearable. Old legs/injured hip turned him from rookie of the year to a hack.

I hope fantasy follows suit and eliminates PIM as a category or part of the point system. (I don't use it, but many do)

never participated in fantasy hockey - you can get points for your player committing a penalty?

seems like a positive reward for negative on-ice behavior. I blame canada.

It was an effort to include a fighter on a team. Never saw the reason to reward tripping/holding, and although disagreed with the fight reward, understood it's relevance back then. Luckily I've played in no such points league, but they are out there.

My ESPN fantasy football app on my Android, new for 2016...

Your device isn't compatible with this version.

What? Worked just fine last season.
No apps just for the Android either?!?!?!
Why did the geniuses at ESPN change it?
Probably all Eric Karabell's idea.

My phone is to old to work with the ESPN app also.:gaah: I'm not about to buy another phone until this one bites the dust.

I am very happy that Mark Trumbo hit a HR tonight. I have been wondering how long before @TKOSpikes was gonna start cussing me out.

Personally, I blame it on The Curse of the Home Run Derby.
