side note - I grew up a cubs AND cards fan, was really into baseball.
Then I met a bunch of cubs fans, switched to just the cards.
Then I met a bunch of MO side cards fans, and switched to Rams.
Then the Rams ran Dick Vermeil out of STL, and I slowly and steadily just became a fan of the NFL in general.
Then the Rams left, so F them, but sticking with football for now.

Here's mine:
I grew up in a Cubs family home - namely my father and oldest sister.
I admit, I tried to follow the Cubs, but they were losers.
Thought I'd check out the White Sox on the south side. They were losers too.
So I became a Cincy Reds fan. Put Pete Rose in the HOF already!
When the Reds started to fizzle, I gave up on baseball entirely. By then the game was moving too slow anyway.
Last baseball game I was at: White Sox game Oct 3, 2010. (I think at the time it was supposed to be Paul Konerko's last game?)
Actually, going to the Mets-Cubs game on July 20.

If I was a 1994 Expos fan, I'd start a class action against MLB for the strike that not only aided in the collapse of the team, but also robbed them of their best team's chance at a playoff run. Probably the best chance they ever had.
Rock Raines - Vlad the Impaler - Pedro when his career arc was on the upswing, and thats just naming a few.
They were loaded that year.

Subban for Weber.....wowza! kinda surprised they didn't retail Subban, but they got a legit blue line special in Weber, even if he is a little older.
Stamkos staying in Tampa (that wasn't a real shocker imo)
Oilers shipping Hall out to NJ for a defender - don't really know anything about Larsson, also don't know much about Hall outside of his draft pedigree

still thinking about that offer... it is hard to trade the best player in the deal... you know, when i don't have a strong feeling about a trade it often takes me a couple days to get back....

the player throwing me off is Jurick Profar... I find it impossible to evaluate him...

TKO, I spent quite a bit of time trying to swing something for Profar yesterday. Just couldn't seem to come up with the right fit. Kinda hard to see where the Rangers are going. Are they gonna deal him? Are they gonna deal Andrus? Will they send Profar down and let him stew? I think sending him down would be a mistake, but keeping him up just to sit on the bench is even worse, so who knows?

In any event, I think he's a good dynasty piece.
