Definitely something they needed to fix. Strange that they thought it was a good idea in the first place to penalize someone for alerting the officials that he wants to make sure they review a play that they were going to review anyway.
This penalty again shows the glaring lack of integrity of the NFL. They didn't hesitate to pretty much fuck over the Lions because it was the rules and they had to follow the rules.... but when the Packers did this against the 49ers in the playoffs they completely ignored the rule and came up with that bullshit lie that they decided to review it before McCarthy threw the flag so blah blah blah.
This isn't human error, this is the NFL having no integrity and ruling penalties strict as hell for some teams and then figuring out a way to let the same penalty slide for their "pet profit" teams and "hollywood ending" teams.
