I don't think the running game was working that spectacular for them........and there were probably a couple reasons they started throwing the football..........1) They were trailing 2 TDs to start the 2nd half, and our defense was stout, which meant the likelihood of them putting together two TD scoring drives wasn't good if they had to relying on running the football.............2) We were kicking the shit out of them. The physical aspect took over and Michigan State couldn't keep up on either side of the ball.

I think we crushed them. That is how football is supposed to be played. None of the fancy slinging the football around garbage.........just line 'em up and knock 'em down. See who's standing at the end. Nebraska was by far more up for the physical challenge, and we did it against one of the most physical football teams in the country.

Their first possession started with a rush of 6, 7, 11, incomplete pass, and then a rush for 5. Then they had 3 straight 3 and outs where they ran the ball on each 1st down and then threw it on 2nd and 3rd downs. Then the first quarter ended at a score of just 10-0. In the 2nd quarter they started with a 5 yard pass followed by a 5 yard penalty. Then they ran it on 2nd and 3rd down for 6 and 8 yards. Later on in the quarter after the Taylor INT they run for 2, 5, and then 4. Get a holding penalty on Nebraska, run it on 1st and goal and then throw it the next 2 downs to settle for a field goal. It was only 10-3 at the half. There was no need to throw the ball all over the place like that. That is why I think MSU paniced unnecessarily like Beck did in Wisconsin. Michigan St got beat up and worn down on defense because MSU's offense couldn't stay on the field to give them rest and we kept leaning on them and pounding the rock. We only had 101 yards in the first half but they were all rushing yards. We just wore them down for the 2nd half. You think Michigan St is one of the more physical teams in the country???? You must not watch as much college football as you claim.

Our defense looked really good but we will see if our rush defense really is better when we play Michigan and especially Penn St. Those 2 teams will NOT panic and abandon the run. And those 2 teams have RBs that are better then MSU's RBs.

They are FAR more physical than any of those pussy ass poser teams in the SEC......with the exception of Alabama and LSU

Also, it's one thing to question my opinions..........but please, please don't question my overall knowledge of college football. I live for college football..........I love it, and I try to analyze it as unbiased as I possibly can.

At the start of the year, I had Nebraska ranked at #23 in my top 25 poll

MSU is not as physical as Georgia and South Carolina. I would almost say Arkansas as well but I just can't say that a Petrino team is physical. I wouldn't even say that MSU is more physical than Wisconsin even though they beat them. MSU caught alot of breaks in that Wisconsin game and I am not just talking about the hail mary.

If you claim that a MSU team that has some real flaws is one of the most physical teams in the country I will question your knowledge all day. I don't care where you had Nebraska ranked preseason. You are obviously letting your bias show with your hatred for the SEC. It is the best conference in the country. It just is.

Jed..........being physical and having flaws are two different things. MSU brings the wood on every play. They go all out......they play hard. They don't have the talent that Michigan has..........they don't have the talent that Ohio State has........but they play harder. I do not even see how you can disagree with that other than the fact that you are disagreeing just to disagree.

The Big 10 is one of the more physical conferences..........and Michigan State is one of the more physical teams in the conference. It is just common sense........how can you not say they are a top 10 physical team in the country?

They did not bring any physicality on Saturday. I can easily say they are not a top 10 physical team. Teams that are more physical than them week in and week out.

LSU
Alabama
Oklahoma
Georgia
South Carolina
Stanford
Nebraska (they are becoming a week in and week out physical team)
Arizona St is a very physical team
TCU
Wisconsin
Penn St
Boise St
Virginia Tech
Auburn

All those teams are either far more physical or slightly more or evenly physical. I would say all of those teams are more physical than MSU. Their OL is bad. Just flat out bad!!!

Ok.........well, I was for the most part speaking on behalf of their defense. I guess I can admit their offense is not that physical. But there were a lot of players getting injured in that game on both sides of the ball for both teams.

But, if I may just bring this up.........if their OL is that bad, and Wisconsin is that much more physical than MSU, then why wasn't Wisconsin's DL able to get in and disrupt MSU's passing game in that matchup?

Cousins threw for 290 yards in that game against Wisconsin..........and it doesn't matter how soft coverage was.......if you have a physical enough defensive front, you will get pressure on that QB and force him to throw bad passes.

And by the way, Bo Pelini must have been lying then when he said after the game that this is the most physical football team we will see this season.

Also, you should try to get Saturdays off from delivering Pepperoni Pizzas............because you obviously don't know what physical football looks like...........or maybe never played physical football before

Saturdays are my only days off for a reason. Stanford is one of the 5 most physical teams in the country. People just hold the PAC 10/12 stigma against them. Arizona St is the same way. That Devil defense is VERY physical!!!!

I didn't disagree with you on Arizona State.........they are SO FUCKING MORE PHYSICAL than Staford though.

LOL @ Stanford allowing 48 points to a USC team that could only put up 19 points on Minnesota. Give me a break
