why not just refuse the Bengals a franchise then?
If this is a bad place for Vick, then why is it not a bad place for all the other guys here?

if the MLB can threaten to terminate the Rangers, then why the NFL keeps putting up with Mike Brown? Because we give the "pride and joy" Steelers 2 practice games a year?

just rambling...

About the Bengals...

Umm, duh!

The guy comes out of prison, why wouldn't he be advised to stay away from the asylum that is Cincinnati? If those are the 3 options, Philadelphia with the strong organizational backing is absolutely the best place to go. And anybody looking to get Vick back on the right track SHOULD suggest Philly.

As a side note: I call bullshit on this. I believe Vick is playing a bit of a role of history revisionist. I'm not denying that he was told Philly would be the best place, but at the end of the day HE chose Philly. It was HIS choice. 1) I don't even recall Buffalo being serious about signing Vick. 2) The Eagles offered him a much better deal than the Bengals (go figure). He's going after the money. But hey, when he's playing well in Philly and they make the playoffs while the Bengals and Bills are still slums of the league, it makes for a great Cinderalla-ish type story.

I agree with this. I just thought I'd point it out. The commissioner isn't an agent, and shouldn't be involved.

If this were true, and I have my doubts that it is the exact truth, then I think Mr. Goodell has some explaining to do. I think commissioner involvement in player acquisition sets an awful precedent.

I read your thread title, all I picture is Roger Goodell screwing Michael Vick, and the Bengals being born.

Well, it certainly wouldn't have been Cleveland dawgs being born.

See what I did there? Vick...dawgs...ah, forget it....

Funny how the Eagles offered Vick more to be a 3rd string quarterback than the Bengals did to be a backup...
