I'll put money on it that this season doesn't end well for Wentz or Rivera
7-9, 7-10 in the last two years in the worse division in football, few to no upgrades anywhere, nope, that bet is rigged!

Agreed. Rivera probably thought it was easy and straightforward to run a front office. Drafting and signing free agents should be left to GMs. Its not Rivera's coaching that will get him the boot, its his drafting and free agent signings.

Being an observer mostly , I am not seeing the production from Mayhew , Hurney. Or RR that you need to win .
The culture still sucks and the ineptitude of this regime continues at full volume from a tone death organization
They bungled the name change and didn’t go with fan wishes , the Sean Taylor fiasco , the trainer selling drugs fiasco ( still no trainer ). The stadium literally is seeping shit , the fan experience is CFL quality , the qb search has been a freaking joke , we still get fleeced in trades, their first real draft as a FO team was a huge miss, and no one with any sense wants to play for this drama queen team with a sex abuser owner

Did I mention the congressional investigation and the silencing of records ?

When I saw Payne and Allen fighting on the sideline, that is when I came to the conclusion that the culture was what it was.

I first had doubts about Rivera with the package we got back for Trent Williams. We let him go for next to nothing.

They have been asleep behind the wheel after day 3 of free agency. The search for a MLB has led to nowhere. I honestly think they have no idea what they are doing. Mayhew is probably looking to Ron and Ron is looking to Hurney. Hurney then looks to Mayhew. We should never have brought in Rivera.

I wish for once we would build a team correctly. Hire a competent GM....then have the GM hire the coach.

Excellent POV of the dysfunction and every reason in the world to hire one person with full authority, guts, the strength of character that tells the owner "no,!" tactfully, is a people person, presents quiet in any storm, and has an eye for how talent works well with talent.

It would be a great trade for us. I would take the best WR available (Jahan Dotson probably) and Breece Hall at RB. Use the 2nd Rd pick on Chad Muma. 4th round pick on Jalen Wydermyer. Rest of the draft is BPA at need...which means anything is fair game.

A player at 11 will not make more of an impact for this team talent-wise than two late 1st round picks. We simply have too many holes on the team to pass up that offer. In the scenerio above, Dotson would be a true #2 and Hall would spell Gibson and be our between the tackles short yardage back. Those would be great options for Wentz in getting him support.

Nice try...

Considering the fact that TH was sleeping on his sister's couch mere months before he got an opportunity, he had a decent year for himself.

You used past tense because you know that he's never tapped into that potential and further proof of this is your refusal to answer my questions about it.

I would love to take Hamilton at 11, however, the greater needs are WR and QB and I would have to weigh my options on how best to fill those needs. That said, I'm not running the team, if I was in charge we would be drafting 32nd for the 10th year in a row! :D

Wentz is a better QB than TH. That is not even close. Wentz can get to a level that TH will never see in his life. Wentz has upside like it or not. It looks like Hamilton will be there at #11. Carolina is taking Pickett at #6.

In presentation Wince is the better QB. Once you dig into each, it's a matter of what you value most. If you like to keep hoping for an upside from Wince to appear then he is your guy, but if you're looking for a baller, a scrapper and that guy you will give your all to because he has fight despite limited skills then Wince isn't your guy. I'm not sure how you quantify what Heinicke has and Wince doesn't or the obvious skill set advantages that Wince has over Taylor, but whatever metric you use, you'd have to conclude that RR is taking a huge gamble that likely will cost him his job.

If Carolina takes Pickett, it changes nothing for Washington, the top two needs for this franchise remains WR and QB.

Both of Wentz coaches came out recently and gave the guy good reviews. The trade was about the Colts owner. If he won the Jax game its a very different story. I just want a qb to fall to us so we can get a haul in a trade down scinerio.

This is fairly commonplace. X-coaches of players who still coach in the NFL don't go out and publically blast a former player. It would make no sense to do so. They would be burning bridges and agents and players would notice.

I am guessing Reich wanted Wentz gone as well as the % numbers were awful. Honest question, why did Philly want him out as well? Pederson and Reich are QB-friendly coaches and it appears they both signed off on having Wentz move on. There are 2 possibilities here:

1. Indy and Philly are just bad organizations and they ran out a franchise QB for no good reason. Both owners and head coaches are idiots and let the golden ticket getaway. Rivera knows something privately that Philly and Indy did not. Turner thinks he can fix the bad decision making and poor completion %.

2. Indy and Philly realized that Wentz is a sub-standard QB and cut their losses. Rivera panicked and must show something in year 3. Indy duped Rivera into taking a 30 year old bust. Now he is Washington's problem.

Any other theories?

I am going with #2 along with every pundit out there and the vast majority of the fanbase. Indy and Philly are run much better and I would gladly trade their front office for the circus we have. Dean is literally the only Commanders fan/NFL fan I know who thinks this is going to work out. Just my opinion.

Yep, Wentz is significantly better than TH. Wentz's best has far exceeded TH's best.

As for Carolina...I'm not so sure.

Correct. I am not going to out on a limb and say ing they signed the next Tom Brady. He has thrown for 20,000 yards, 140 TDs and 57 Ints. He is about 5% low on completion percentage. He is clearly an upgrade of TH.

Think back when Philly drafted Hurts. Every Philly fan was pissed. So, what does that tell you? It was the year after they gave Wentz that huge contract and he got hurt. I think its going to work b/c he is better than a hurt Smith, Haskins, Allen, Fitz, and TH.
