I agree but if Sauce is there at #11, we could draft him and move Fuller to FS. Stingley's pro day should be interesting.
I just honestly hate throwing a 1st round pick at defense yet again. This will be roughly 6 years straight. We can't over-reach obviously but drafting defense year in and year out certainly has not helped the situation.

I think in a sauce Gardner situation, it’s about BPA and not about needs

I suppose he would take WJ3 spot.

There again, we literally have no MLB right now. You would like to think with JDR and RR as former LBs that they would understand the importance of that position. RR has swung and missed on MLB his first two seasons: Bostic was a disaster and Davis was bad as well.

I have no clue what the plan is with the draft. I do advocate BPA most of the time but I can't help but think that we would be shoring up an area of lesser need instead of addressing the most important needs.

I was hoping our free-agent class would set up the draft. However, at this time, all we did was get Wentz and resign our own. Gardner would be fantastic as a player...I hope. If he is the pick, I would assume that the 2nd rounder is a MLB. That would make sense. MLB must be addressed at some point.

If that occurs, the defense SHOULD be lights out. There would be no excuses. The offense on the other hand would continue its current 5 year run of scoring about 20 points a game if that. Wentz is no savior and we would have done little to support him. By neglecting the offense another year, you have to think McLaurin is taking note of this. I literally have no idea why McLaurin would sign here (outside of money alone). We neglect the offense, he is the only real passing weapon we have, and the front office has shown little in way of an offensive strategy.

I have no problem with the name Commanders. I liked Warriors and Red wolves also. I like the helmets too. I said use the "w" from day one. The uniforms could have been a lot better. that is going to take some time getting used too. It's not the unknown public who took the survey. The unknow public doenst read hogshaven.com. Its Commanders fans.
You've completely missed the point, but to be clear it was about surveys and not your own POV on the change. Oh well, let's try this from a different approach. What are your thoughts on this? (please don't focus on his thoughts on that last game, the other parts of what he said are far more important to Washington)

Colts owner Jim Irsay calls Carson Wentz era a mistake ...

How could any team consider trading for this player in which another OWNER claims Wince was the only reason the team performed so poorly down the stretch, had no locker room morale or chemistry and showed no moxy or not nearly enough to lift the level of play of those around him to knock off what Irsay clearly calls, "the worst team in the league" to make the playoffs. He also said no interest would be the result of cutting Wince as they were not moving forward with Wince. This over pay is almost, notice I say almost, as bad as the Browns giving Watson his guaranteed money and literally fuking over the rest of the league when it comes to the paying QB scale which has now been knocked off its axis.
This was clearly the dumbest move by any organization this off season and clearly why people still take "Easy" shots at the organization and you Ron. You have been all talk since you got here with very little to show for it. You made the move, you better win with him because even your job could/should hinge on the this years team success.

Being an observer mostly , I am not seeing the production from Mayhew , Hurney. Or RR that you need to win .
The culture still sucks and the ineptitude of this regime continues at full volume from a tone death organization
They bungled the name change and didn’t go with fan wishes , the Sean Taylor fiasco , the trainer selling drugs fiasco ( still no trainer ). The stadium literally is seeping shit , the fan experience is CFL quality , the qb search has been a freaking joke , we still get fleeced in trades, their first real draft as a FO team was a huge miss, and no one with any sense wants to play for this drama queen team with a sex abuser owner

Did I mention the congressional investigation and the silencing of records ?

Of course, the owner wanted him out. he is the one who made the move. Two coaches just said he has upside. Thats why I posted the articles.

It is extremely rare for an owner to be this publicly blunt about a player. My impression is one in which I believe that Irsay NEVER wanted this guy but was convinced by his HC to take a chance on him. I'm also fairly sure that in reaching that agreement to get Wince in Indy, there were certain conditions attached to his tenure there and this outpouring is a reflection of his (Wince) inability to meet them.

Some have stated that Ron Rivera shouldn't be on a hot seat this year if things go in the same, or worse, ways as his previous two seasons here, but I agree with you, Rivera is taking an enormous gamble with Wince and it very well may cost him his job. Right now, I'm predicting that the Philadelphia Eagles will win the NFCE and Washington finishes with a very familiar 7-10, 8-9, and if they are lucky 9-8 (non-wild-card) seasonal record.

I know that it's wayyyy too early for that sort of prediction and when I do this some here want to know my justification for doing it. So here's my reasoning.

1. NFCE division winners don't repeat as of late so that eliminates the Goat-ropers.

2. I cannot see the Giants taking the division, although I do think that their stand-fast approach will yield some improvement in 2022.

3. Defensively Washington will snap back to respectability and at times will resemble that 2020 unit. With little improvement offensively they will struggle to score enough to win games.

4. By default and with an improved team, the Eagles "win" the division. (Note the satire indicated by quotations)

Hell man, I concede that he has "upside" and almost everyone who looks at the guy agrees, but this applies to any number of failed QBs in league history. So let me ask you once again...

1. What good is an "upside" that is never realized?

2. If he's capable why hasn't he tapped into that "upside" thus far?

3. Has he been saving it in order to end up in D.C? (sorry I couldn't stop myself:D)

He is 30 , he is what he is. , and underachieving bust of a 2nd overall pick and 2x failure in 2 organizations , with a million dollar arm and a 10cent head .

Note: The last repeat champion in the NFCE was Philadelphia who won four straight from 2001 to 2004, that's 17 years ago!

Is it possible that what we're seeing is just another iteration of too many cooks in the kitchen? Mayhew, Hurney, are cooks, but RR who isn't is their boss, whatever stew comes from this grouping won't be at the insistence of the cooks, but at the approval of he who operates that kitchen.

1. The upside was realized when he was injury free.

2. He has been hurt and had a decent year with the Colts last year.

3. I think we are fortunate to get him for a 3rd and 2nd. He is the best option available out of all the QB's in Fa and draft except Wilson and Watson.

Look at Carolina right now. The GM even admitted today that they are FORCED to take a QB at #6. We are not FORCED to take a QB at #11 right now. We could trade down or take the BPA. Why? b/c we now have a QB.

Sure, QB's at 30 never revitalize their careers in this league. lol

1. I take note that you used the past tense (was) when describing his upside.

2. Actually, Taylor Heinicke had a decent year last year, considering where he came from.

3. So, you meet this gorgeous female, everything about her meets or exceeds your expectations and you tell all of your friends and family that you're fortunate to get her when you realize that she's not only broke but her credit score is 10, do you still feel fortunate?

4. Washington STILL NEEDS a QB because they still don't have one!! In fact, their top two needs are WR and QB!! (MLB, Safety follows)

TH did not have a decent year last year. He was just a runner. Terrible accuracy and decision making. I used past tense b/c when he is healthy, he can be a star. We do not need to take a QB this year. I heard the Sam Howell rumors. If we take him at #11 then I am totally dumbfounded by the Wentz trade.

Let me ask you this are you taking K. Hamilton if he falls to #11?

Nice try...

Considering the fact that TH was sleeping on his sister's couch mere months before he got an opportunity, he had a decent year for himself.

You used past tense because you know that he's never tapped into that potential and further proof of this is your refusal to answer my questions about it.

I would love to take Hamilton at 11, however, the greater needs are WR and QB and I would have to weigh my options on how best to fill those needs. That said, I'm not running the team, if I was in charge we would be drafting 32nd for the 10th year in a row! :D
