but would we take KC with a team built around him ? because top 5 qbs just dont fall into your laps . in fact it can be argued that only twice in the teams 90 plus years have we had a elite qb baugh and jurgensen
Nope, we've seen that in Minnesota, He is what he is and you're right top 5 QBs don't fall into your laps, you have to be awful to get these guys and Wince is awful.

BTW: one of the points in my response to this eluded to Washington's historical middle-of-the-pack draft history. Sammy Baugh was drafted in 1937 round 1 pick 6, Sonny was traded in exchange for our first-round QB Norm Snead who was drafted in 1961 round 1 pick 2. (plus another player) There's a reason why we haven't had an elite QB in all of that time.

Meanwhile KC's equal AJ McCarron, so I was told is starting in the XFL.

Agreed, did not miss Holcomb at all this year. Need to upgrade at LB next to Davis, period!

Landon Collins wasn't good either. This will be his 2nd year of dead cap money I believe.

Mistake #1 of the offseason if true.

Thomas needs to be released.

If Rivera and EB feel bates or turner can become a consistent pass catching TE, we have to see some progress. Bates is a blocking TE, who can catch, but we have no clue about turner. Rodgers is intriguing but the idea of an udfa becoming a top pass catching TE is highly unlikely. Did any one those 3 show steady progress last year? The answer is no. I am not giving up on those 3, but they appear to be long term projects. Bates is clearly more comfortable being a blocking TE, and turner needs to be developed. Same with Rodgers.

EB will have his work cut out as the TE is a massive component of the Reid offense. I am not sure what the end game is, but Rivera and EB are showing a massive amount of trust in howell and the TE room. I think that could come back and bite us.
Or, this is coach deception talk to mislead other teams.

It could be that they are going to address other needs knowing they can’t fix everything.
It could be ownership turmoil influencing these things .
it could be they are incompetent morons
they could be lying in the season of lying

The good news is that the major needs are basically 4 units or positions. Again, this is my opinion and Rivera could think these areas are top notch. Everything cannot be addressed, but we say that every year. The goal should be to continue to eliminate glaring weaknesses each year. In order of importance.

Offensive line unit
Starting CB
Starting LB
Starting TE

I estimate that is roughly 8 starting players.
I think grabbing 6 starters via free agency andnthr draft is doable, but we will see. Again, Rivera might think rb is a major hole, I don't know.

I seriously hope they go after and sign Pocic and Powers that would remove center and guard as a need from the draft
