I agree with your post. Im curious is someone offered a 2nd round pick for Payne at the trade deadline. You think our offer will be higher than other teams in FA? Payne is going to want to hit FA this year. NO way he accepts RR's first offer without listening to other teams. I think we have to franchise tag him if RR wants him back for 2023.

Yes, I think Rivera will offer more than other teams because he has no clue what he is doing. He knows he has 30 million in cap and wants to build an elite DLine.

If Payne walks, we can get 2 top olieman, TE, and LB in FA. I think the tag will be placed on him before the FA market opens.

His passing is suspect and can't stay healthy now I wouldn't offer more then a mid rounder

he may not be a fit in DC, but his career is far, far from done.
His WR situation has been terrible, i will say he's becoming injury prone at this point.
Give him a healthy o-line, he's right back where he left off

I think he does because Rivera is going to make him an offer he cannot refuse. I disagree with it but it is what it is.

They have some cap to throw around and they are dead set on having the DLine be elite. Again, I disagree with this approach. No need to have an elite DLine when the OLine is a disaster.

Rivera is a poor GM and does not understand balance. He literally builds one unit while destroying or neglecting another. I would rather have an above-average OLine and above-average DLine but I am not the GM. Balance across the field is critical in my opinion.

Should have both yes.
We would need a skillful GM to draft and sign olineman to rebuild the oline. Rivera is not a skilled GM. We will see.

If he ascends to payne level production, then it would be a great pick. Good teams replace starters who leave for free agency all the time.

The Ridgeway pickup was an outstanding move from the front office to shore up a potential weakness. Additionally, the pick allows Mathis to recover more slowly.
