Have to clean up some misinformation on my part. The savings listed above are based on POST JUNE cuts. Free agency is in March. Don't know what I was thinking. If we franchise Payne we are gonna be up against the cap.In a normal year, I do think Ron gets fired. They tried the make Scherff the highest paid guard ever and he balked. That's on Dan and the half empty stadium. I'd probably want out too.
If you really break down the cap we could have a bunch of money this year.
Cutting these guys post June savings:
Wentz 26.1
Leno 10.2
Roullier 10.3
Logan 7.0
McCain 4.4
Norwell 4.4
McKissic 2.7
Thats 65.1 million plus to 20m cap space we are already slated to have. That makes 85m. Take away about 13m for the draft and that leaves you 72m to play with if you want.
I know the last thing YOU want is Rivera having access to that cash. Lol. Just saying.
this isnt the draft i would do it withHave to clean up some misinformation on my part. The savings listed above are based on POST JUNE cuts. Free agency is in March. Don't know what I was thinking. If we franchise Payne we are gonna be up against the cap.
Even if we don't re-sign Payne we still will have no where near the amount of money I projected in the previous post. Apologies to the board.
Now I know why Keim said he doesn't see us going after Carr and mentioned Brissett as an example.
Maybe this is the draft where we just take a chance, get aggressive, and go get a QB in the draft.
I called the Jags and Lions. Didn't see the Giants coming.so much for easy schedule this year. lol

Bears fumble the punt. Payne doesn't tip the ball vs. Atlanta. Jags dropped two Tds. You are what your record says you are. I do think we had the roster to win 10.The lions, Titans, Browns, and both Giants games stand out as the huge losses. If you said to me or any fan that we would only have to win 4 out the 5 from these teams to get into the playoffs, it should have been a slam dunk. Hence my 11-win projection. Should of had 10 win this year. Oh well.
Agreed.Bears fumble the punt. Payne doesn't tip the ball vs. Atlanta. Jags dropped two Tds. You are what your record says you are. I do think we had the roster to win 10.
Agreed.
Let's not start the 2022 revisionist history again Dean. We are what we are and are a .500 team. We had the chance to win more than 8; however, we clearly had chances to lose more than 8 as well.
You seem to only focus on the "close" loses but you are not mentioning the "close" wins as well.
We are still the worst team in the division and not a playoff team. Hopefully this changes.
Actually, I thought JDR did well most of the time. We are currently 14th in points per game but that should improve once game statistics are updated. But we done this with bad QB play and horriable coaching. We arent as far away as you think. If Howell works out that would be HUGE!

I am not going to start the whole "faith and hope" talk again. We are what we are. We are a .500 team who is last in the division. In other words, we are mediocre.
We have the worst starting QB, worst GM, and worst HC currently. A new owner will begin to change that as we all know. We had the "easiest" schedule in the entire NFL and still could not punch a ticket to the playoffs where almost half the teams make it.
However, yes, we are as far away as I think. We have no OLine, we have the worst LB corp in the NFL, and we are unsure of the QB position. Howell looked good....but we still don't know if he is the guy or not. I am starting to think he is. Building around him is what I think we should do. We are going to have to assume he is the QB we are looking for.
Don't grab on to him like you did Wentz though and claim we will win 11 games next year. You got obsessed with Wentz and it came back to bite you when we all told you Wentz wasn't the guy. Howell COULD be the guy and hopefully IS the guy. Let's not crown him just yet.
Snyder still owns the team and Rivera is still our GM/coach. Until then...yes, we are NOT close to making the playoffs or doing damage in the NFC East.
Understood.i did not mean JDR when i said coaching cmon now. The schedule did not turn out to be that easy. Giants and Lions over preformed this year. We just beat The Cowboys who had there started in for the whole game and they are a 12-win team. That should mean something. We did beat an Eagles team that was undefeated at the time. and are a 14-win team.
We were a QB away from making the playoffs this year. Its not all doom and gloom. I believe RR and Turner should be fired. RR could stick around b/c of the team sale.
Hheh. Already crowned him. You don't like to waste time do you. The way you do it you're bound to get one right someday. But we done this with bad QB play and horriable coaching. We arent as far away as you think. If Howell works out that would be HUGE!
