Fields is lighting it up...that much is true. Once they get him a better OLine and some additional weapons...he may be their answer.

Depending on how the 49ers finish, Grap might be their long-term answer. He seems to be their version of Cousins. In other words, they are looking for every way to insult him...yet...once gone, they will probably be sorry they were disrespectful and not realize what they had at the time.

Correct me if I am wrong, but all he has done is win and get them deep in the playoffs. Scratch that...he is their combo version of Alex Smith/Cousins. They seem to hate the way Grap wins and want a flashier QB...yet...they will kick and scream once he is gone.

In Rivera's defense, he "apparently" wanted Grap before Wentz. At this point, I see why he did and I agree with Rivera's observation for once. He denied it; however, he also lied to IMan's agent, so who knows what the truth actually is.

Wentz was NEVER going to be the answer...Grap could have been the answer. He appears to be for SF. We will obviously never know.

Does that make sense boss?

I wanna be careful when I say this because the big indicator, W/L record does seem to weigh heavily in **** star Jimmy's favor. Hasn't he had a top flight defense n a good to great running game for much of his tenure. I watched the Chiefs/9ers SB again about a month or so ago with my son who's a 9er fan.. Now I wasn't examining it with a microscope or anything and 9ers defense did give up 21 points in the last 6 1/2 minutes, but Jimmy had some better than decent stats late into the 3rd or even into the 4th and things wwent south passing-wise for 9ers suddenly. Cuz they put up some good rushing stats as I recall. And even if I'm wrong about everything I just said. Overthrowing Sanders by 5 yards who would've scored easy with a pass that just kept him running was kinda unforgivable in a sense. That play would've wrapped it up imo for the 9ers and I know even the best miss those kinda throws, but missing em in the Super Bowl.......that's rough.

@Niner Outlaw is a 9ers fan he has a better take on Jimmy n the 9ers in general than I do. My son wants em to keep Jimmy. He doesn't much confidence in Lance at this present time.

Far as Jimmy over Carson....yeah, that would've been better for sure. I can't say I would've been overjoyed with Jimmy, but I would've been near as upset and I believe the Skins would be better off now 2 wins better off I'd say, maybe 3. I do think Jimmy can lead the 2022 9ers to a SB win. Once agaimn they have a good team around him with no glaring weakness (except the injury bug) and got better with Cmac. I don't see him leading ther 2022 Skins to a Super Bowl if he was their QB though. Not with their OL and their RBs aren't as good as Frisco's. Though I do think Gibson could be a poor man's version of Cmac. Not near the runner, but he'd come close pass catching, an area where he's not utilized near enough imo.

I largely agree with you.

We've all seen Jimmy's best. It's good, but not great. On a talented team, he CAN be good enough to win a SB. He's an above average manager. A good team wins WITH him, rather than winning BECAUSE of him. That's why, when he HAD to throw to win the game, he couldn't do it (he struggles on deep balls and passes outside the numbers). If he has to throw 35 times in a game, the Niners lose. That tells you plenty about Jimmy's limitations. And it is those limitations that led to trading up for a QB b/c the team was either going to have to reup Jimmy at a considerable raise (a bad decision) or else make plans to move on.

Trey Lance is still an unknown commodity (a bad sign imo). Because of that, there is increasing talk in Niner circles that Kyle might try and keep Jimmy for another year (if his market is weak), or even go after a veteran (ala Brady, Ryan, etc.). Personally, from what I've seen, I don't have great optimism for Lance. He's in the best possible situation for a young QB, but I just don't have a lot of confidence.

Personally, I think Wentz's skill set fits Washington's offense better than Jimmy's, but that Jimmy is a better overall QB b/c he makes fewer mistakes.

I dunno. It was just a month ago you n I were in agreement that Chicago fucked up big time acquiring Fields. He's on fire right now though. I don't know if he'll ever be a QB that can or should be passing 40 times a game, but since they played the Skins. Chicago has scored 33, 29, 32 n 30 points in their last 4 games n he's looked real good.
They changed the offense to more of a Ravens/Lamar style offense.

Statistically in their career Carson has done a lot more than Jimmy. The difference IMO is Kyle.

Heh, maybe my disdain for Wince has bled over into my opinion about him, but his mistakes can be horrendous. So can Taylor's though. Both make the kind of mistakes that make you wanna slap your momma. From what you're saying Jimmy can be pretty inaccurate if he has to make throws that require some air. So can Wince, though he can make every throw as well. Where Carson's inaccuracy will drive you crazy is on short n mid-range passes. That's why I can't get behind the he doesn't know the offense yet rationale. While I don't necessarily disagree with that. I can't see why that would cause Carson to overthrow a wide open WR 8 yards downfield by 2 yards.
Damn. That's real talk though.

Seeing Young in that pink shirt has me wondering What happened with all the pink we didn't see this year. Has the NFL dropped out of the breast cancer fight?

Yeah, thinking on it I'm kinda surprised we, or at least I haven't heard anyone say anything about No talking heads, no one from from any advocacy groups. Nada. Like it just quietly slipped away in the darkness or something.

I know the whole wearing pink has kinda died down, but I think when Tanya got booed she was giving a speech about it. Not sure though.

Good point. Reminds me of Cooley giving my brother two pairs of gloves with some pink in them to wear when they were playing HS ball. They were so happy.

What's the dope on Derek Carr? I just heard some ESPN talking head say he'll likely not be a Raider next year.

I just looked at Carr's contract. He just signed a new contract this year. This is his contract situation.

Derek Carr

3 years, $121,500,000

Carr’s latest extension carries $65.2M of potential guarantees - but only $25M at signing (his 2022 compensation).

This is a contract to watch in the coming months, as it truly can be a 1 year, $25M deal in its simplest form. If he’s healthy, the Raiders can release Carr before February 15th, owing him no additional salary, while taking on a measly $5.6M dead cap hit ($29.2M saved). After this date, his $33M salary for 2023, + $7.5M of 2024 compensation become fully guaranteed. All $40M of this is currently guaranteed for injury right now.

His dead cap hit for the year 2023 after Feb 15th is crazy high. Almost 35 million and jumps to almost 44 million of 24 and 25.

I know its not happening any time soon, but I'd love to see whether or not Howell has the goods.

The talking heads are trying to figure out what the Raiders can really change. The owner has said that McDaniel is safe. That means the GM is probably also safe. That leaves the QB as the last real meaningful change that can be made.

Imo, no way they move on from Carr this soon (but I"ve been wrong many times) unless they can land someone like Brady. If they do move on, the Commies and several other teams should be interested in Carr.

Yeah, I don't see the Raiders scapegoating Carr either even if with a great opportunity to do it before Feb 15th from a monetary standpoint. He may not be upper echelon of the top tier of QBs., He's a baller though n you can win with him n because of him.

I think the NFL is starting to learn that good QBs don't grow on trees and that the draft can be hit or miss with QB prospects.

This will possibly be the 3rd straight draft with lackluster QBs (minus Trevor Lawrence in 2021). Not sure there is a can't miss prospect in the 2023 class either.
