I wouldnt trade Payne with the way he’s playing.

Personally, I think they should’ve signed him to a LTD last year.

When Wentz is off the books, that should free up some cash to pay payne.

Gotta keep the homegrown talent to help chsnge the culture. Scary Terry was a good get, now its time to resign Payne AND Heinickie. That’s right - I said it! I hope Heinicke signs a long term deal to be a quality backup qb here in DC for the rest of his career.

Kinda saw this coming. I posted two years ago that they should look into trading Payne. Every beat writer in DC has been saying he's gone. Pissed that we are here.

If they aren't going to trade him I hope they are going to be sure to sign him. If all you are going to do is keep him for 9 more games then let him walk they should trade him. This should actually be in negotiation right now.

I would not trade Payne unless the front office knows he doesn't want to be here. My personal feeling is that he doesn't want to be here given the actions of the team, such as the drafting of Mathis. The sideline fight with Allen doesn't help and his father gaslighting the organization doesn't help. Maybe I am wrong and this is ALL water under the bridge and he loves playing here.

Hopefully, Rivera/Mayhew have had discussions about a LTD, but I doubt it. Rivera is clueless and will probably tag Payne this offseason because tagging players has worked so well for us in the past...LOL. If the goal was and is to keep Payne, then the drafting of Mathis looks idiotic. You don't draft 2nd rounders with the intent to have them be backups unless you are the Chiefs. We had holes all over the place.

I agree with you on Heinickie! Heinickie has proven he is a top 3 backup in the league and we need him on this roster. Wentz's contract getting off the books opens up a lot of space.

Exactly but we always fail at this part. RR thinks this is a playoff team so keep Payne. Reality is we cannot keep Young, Sweat, Allen & Payne at big money with no depth. Payne's replacement is on IR and we likely sign or draft DT depth again this off season.
Time to trade Payne for a nice return!

I'd be shocked if someone pays 7B and rolls with the name Snyder picked and the fans hate.

Have to think anything Commanders related, uniforms and all will be gone.

I'd expect the Superbowl uniforms to return and a name like the one's listed above or even a return to WFT.

If Kansas City can call themselves the Chiefs, put an arrowhead in the helmet, and do the Tomahawk chop, I don't think we will get pushback for Warriors and the old arrow logo on the helmet.

Either those uniforms with Warriors, or the Superbowl uniforms with the old striped helmet with a W inside a circle on it.

Does our fan base really want Rivera running another draft and free agent period? History says that Rivera only has a winning season every 3 years. He is currently at 4 straight losing seasons and has a difficult schedule stretch coming up.
Why anyone wants to see more of the Rivera show is beyond me.
