What a mess. Not thumping my chest, but I never felt good about that pick. Here is to a quick, speed recovery. Hopefully, he gets back this season and continues to grow and then dominate. At this point, would we even resign him?

I basically said the same thing and was castigated for not being more hopeful and positive. I would have thought that more talent would have been brought in to address the 2021 25th-ranked defense. Can anyone really say that we made significant upgrades to address the holes we had in 2021?

The bottom line is:

DLine: We are weaker in depth and have injuries with Young. Young's injury (4 weeks or more) and losing Settle and I Man. Mathis was drafted in the 2nd for depth behind Payne and Allen.

Overall: Worse than 2021due to Young missing significant time and loss of talent at depth

LB: No upgrades at all. It appears the plan is that Davis hopefully improves.

Overall: About the same as 2021

Secondary: No updates at all for starters. Depth has improved with Holmes and Butler; however, they are rookies drafted in the mid or late rounds and will need time. McCain was brought back to start again.

Overall: Slightly better than 2021 due to younger, hopefully, better depth.

Rivera appears to be comfortable with the same players who are responsible for the 25th-ranked defense. Perhaps he feels that JDR had an off year. the injuries will stop, the new DLine coach will turn it around, and the depth players make an impact. I am not seeing it. I think Rivera is not really doing anything to move the needle here at all.

What do you do when that 5th year option pops up? Even if he plays this year he isn't going to be the guy before the injury. Real time recovery is next year.

I don't know and that is a very fair question. Something is always up with Young. Remember when he got suspended his Junior year for 4 games out of the blue? I don't know, I am not an OSU guy but it seems injuries or other circumstances always follow him.

The talent is there and it's not his fault for getting hurt. As I said, it is always something.

He did not suffer a ruptured patella. That is fake news. He did however have to borrow from the patella of the good leg for the bad and therefore recovery will be longer

With Dallas losing Tyron to injury and the loss of Cooper in trading him to the Browns, Gallup and Washington being hurt....they are left with Lamb and a rookie at WR....

Seriously think Philly can win the East and Washington bumps Dallas down to 3rd place....
