I will trust them when we are 11-6
At this point, after 17 games of film, I believe howell to be a top end back up in the league. He is not a bust because he was a 5th round pick.

i don,t know if it,s coaching, but he,s taken taken huge steps backwards lately. At this point, after 17 games of film, I believe howell to be a top end back up in the league. He is not a bust because he was a 5th round pick.
I like howell but he does not seem to be progressing to me. I would have liked to have seen steady progression.
Yes, there were barriers: Oline, coaching staff in limbo, EB as a first time player caller.
That being said, there are always roadblocks and obstacles with every team in the nfl. Sometimes I get the mpression that we believe we are the only team with struggles. Other teams have rookie qbs, other teams have bad Olines, other teams have coaching issues as well.
However, the question remains, had howell done enough to be considered the starter for 2024 and the franchise qb? Forget the excuses...had he shown enough.
I believe that the answer is no. That doesn't mean I hate howell, want him cut, want him trades, etc. He simply is not growing in my opinion.
