The OL is far simpler than you guys are making it out to be. At the moment, our staters are

LT- Leno
LG- Paul/Gates/Norwell
C- Roullier/Gates
RG- Cosmi
RT- Wylie

We have some depth players under contract.

Now we wait until the draft. We could possibly go LT in round 1, which would likely mean the end of either Leno or Lucas. We could go LT, G, or C in round 2 or later, which could mean the end of a number options.

Time to be patient.

this doesn’t count sweat or curl needing to be signed and having only 33 players under contract

Keim's pod from today.

Sale will happen

It's not if, it's who.

A bunch of false stuff out there right now.

People trying to be first and guessing. Said it's easy to throw stuff out there and be proven right when it's basically down to two people.

Said everyone needs to "take a breath." It's gonna happen and when it does it will be on ESPN and he will have a story about it.

Don't read too much into Dan clearing out his office. He did that in December as has already been reported.

Keim repeated over and over that this sale is going to happen.

Said Skins were in on LB Tranquill and did speak to him. They want a LB to pair with Davis and Barton. Could be a starter but at the very least a better backup than what they have now. Said could be FA, draft, or post draft FA.

Exactly ... it seems the sale is going to happen and no sense it worrying who until it is official. I think I just said this yesterday.

Keim (con't)

Skins feel Gates may be the answer at center.

Didn't spend big on OT because that would have meant no LB which they still want to do, no Brissett and no Gates.

Bram Weinstien saying new owner will probably want to make a splash and if Howell is a hit they will be in GREAT shape next year cap wise.

Keim said he knows Skins want to get extentions done with Curl and Sweat, "everyone else is wait and see." (Did not mention Chase)

Keim (cont)

Skins really wanted Heinicke back and were close to getting that done.

Ended up paying more for Brissett but only one year.

QB comp was basically gonna be Howell's to lose. That has changed.

Brissett has a real shot to beat out Howell in camp. Said players always know.

Keim said you would hear players talk about Heinicke. Said they knew what he was or wasn't, but they all knew the alternative (Wentz) wasn't better.

We might need to prepare ourselves for Brissett being the starter. I am fine with it but I believe a poster or here will have a meltdown.

I simply want the best QB on the field for this team.

We should all want the best player at any position.

We can think whatever we want, it is up to the coaching staff to do the right thing. That is why we wanted EB as OC, right?

One would think.

I am still bitter about various coaching decisions.

I am still mad that Wuerffel didn't start over Matthews in 2002. I thought that glove had sacred powers and would lead us to victory. Spurrier started Matthews, then Wuerffel, and then Ramsey.

Wuerffel was betrayed by his former coach and alumni out of jealousy. We could have won 4 Super Bowls with Wuerffel. I wonder where that glove now rests?

I just want to win. I do hope they give Howell a chance or two to have a bad game. We aren't winning the SB with either of them this year. Might as well find out for sure what Howell is.

I was a Matthews fan. Spurrier was a great college coach. He didn't seem NFL ready, He was RR before RR picking snatching up former Florida players.

I hated Spurrier because he beat Tennessee every season and then would insult them when they went to the Citrus Bowl year in and year out. He once said that "you can't spell citrus without "UT".

I was pumped when he got here but it obviously didn't work out.

I think the best QB he coached was Grossman. Again, little did I know that both Spurrier and Grossman would be in DC, even if it was at different times.

Grossman was probably his best QB .... although Tebow and his intangibles in college were awesome. I was a Spurrier fan.

What is your connection to the Volunteers? I liked Smokey so much that I now have a Bluetick. I was a Shuler fan, he bombed so badly in the NFL and of course I rooted for Peyton. I certainly rooted for them to beat Duke the other night.

Born and raised in Tennessee.

I was a Shuler fan as well. He appears to have been a better Congressman than NFL QB. He was probably one of the last "conservative Democrats" we will see. He was a member of the Blue Dog coalition.

Shuler is probably my 4th favorite QB behind Tee Martin, Manning, and Casey Clausen.

Heupel has breathed pride back into the fanbase after the disasters of Pruitt and Dooley. Heupel's offense is amazing to watch.

You as a former coach would probably laugh watching some of the offensive highlights. The WRs splits are odd to watch as they are within a few yards of the sideline when they line up. The slot WR has the entire field in front of him once he catches the ball. That is why Hyatt had 5 TDs against Bama this year. The slot WR catches the ball and has a lot of real estate in front of him. The CBs are spread out so wide, it is shooting fish in a barrel with hitting slants in the middle of the field.

Not to mention that they snap the ball right after it is set. The offense causes confusion and frustration. Defenses are looking at their sideline as the WR runs by them on a post route. It also wears out the DLine as well.

TN took your old Penn St. co-DC (Tim Banks). He is doing pretty well. Needless to say, hopefully the offense keeps clicking and they continue to close the gap against Bama and Georgia. It is hard to compete against Bama and GA when they bring in a class of ten 5 star recruits. I hope OK doesn't come back for Heupel to be honest.

Manny Diaz is bad to the bone as a DC at Penn State but he won't be there long.

I went to Navy A school in Millington, outside of Memphis. It was a cool place. I was only there about 6 months.

I haven't watched TN for a few years. So I haven't really watched their offense but you have given a good explanation of it. Spurrier, June Jones (you mentioned Hawaii) and Chip Kelly to name a few ran very successful gimmick offenses with some success. Nothing wrong with it if you can make it work. NFL players as you know are bigger, faster etc. Kyle Shanahan showed years ago that you could use elements of it with Griffin. Good NFL coaches have found ways to implement some elements of the college game. Four verts was Spurrier, RPO used in many places in college, hurry up game from Kelly in doses. A forerunner to zone defense a gazillion years ago came from Penn State in the early 70s. Manny Diaz in the pros would be sort of equivalent of Buddy Ryan. Worked great with the players that the Bears had and catching the league by surprise. Within two years the league adjusted.

Anyhow ... I ramble. I have been leary of Hooker because he became a sort one year wonder at age 26.? I could be wrong, sometimes it takes someone time to get there. I am not high on any QBs coming out this year. I am with dad, if we don't have a guy next year we need to be ready to get a guy in 2024.

Right now all I want is a new owner. Whatever happens this year is really not my focus. I am focusing more on 2024.

This Dean is why starting wince vs the browns was a mistake
