The Bluez and Flames seem to do a lot of deals, I don't mind Backes, but I think I'd rather have Oshie (Flames have pretty good depth at centre, need help on the wings).

I think Hudler would be going to the Blues in any deal for Backes. They need scoring. And in that case, there won't be a first rounder coming. Backes + 2nd rounder for Hudler?

I wouldn't hate it, but as I said earlier, I'm not the biggest Backes fan. I think Treliving should be prudent and patient and measure the demand out there before pulling the trigger.

The other thing to keep in mind is that Gio hasn't exactly been the most durable guy - 64 games is the most number of games he has played in the last four seasons*

* - includes the lockout season where he did play 47 of 48 games.
