Curious what the sense is in CGY regarding Kadri? Fit into long term plans? Tradeable? Stuck with him?

Kadri might be the number one center when the team hits the ice in October. I think the Flames are stuck with him for the foreseeable future and I think it's pretty clear that he and Sutter were not on the same page, hopefully a new coach will help, it was tough to see Kadri going through the motions in the second half of last season.

Oilers fans are taking victory laps about all the guys wanting out of Calgary, but having the two top scorers in the league and going out meekly in round 2 (taking a step back from the previous season) doesn't look all that great to me.

I like it, some fresh guys with hopefully fresh and innovative ideas, sure there might be some pain for a year or two, but I also feel like it's a step in the right direction.

I played against Marc Savard in minor hockey (I was better back then but he clearly had a better work ethic). Also know some of his friends from high school and, lets just say, hopefully he has matured. 40 years usually does that to people. Very smart player anyway you slice it. I bet he makes a good coach.

I always thought he was a bit of a twat watching him in the NHL, but his studio segments on NHL Network shows he really understands the game. I liked him better as an analyst than a player.

Not good, but BOS even worse. Only 1 player Jakob Lauko has played any NHL games (23).

PIT since 2016 has only 87 games with 80 of those from Calen Addison.

But yeah, not good

To borrow a phrase, woof!!
That’s not really fair to the Flames - they’re not actually including 2017 where Valimaki and Ruzicka were taken, they haven’t had a high first in that time other than Coronado (kinda, still outside top ten) who’s 2021 and can still show, Wolf is pretty much guaranteed to start adding games to his resume and could be very good, Pelletier should get a good shot…

Also, 17/18 drafts were pretty shit and 2020 was an absolute crap shoot.
