It makes me wonder (using my Elliotte Friedman voice) if Sutter's refusal to play the young kids was the final straw. Guys like Ruzicka and Pelletier were adding a lot more to the team that Lucic and Lewis and yet Dutter refused to play them down the stretch in favor of the older vets.

At the end of the day, it just looks like a move by Murray Edwards to be as fiscally responsible (i.e. cheap) as possible. I mean, the Flames do spend to the cap basically every year, so that's not entirely fair, but Tre's contract was up and Sutter has two years remaining on his contract.
