At the end of the day, it just looks like a move by Murray Edwards to be as fiscally responsible (i.e. cheap) as possible. I mean, the Flames do spend to the cap basically every year, so that's not entirely fair, but Tre's contract was up and Sutter has two years remaining on his contract.

if a Franchise is making personal decisions based on saving some money they are not trying to win...
