Because he was freakin terrific

He has tremendous potential, that's for sure. He's regarded as the best Finnish junior game in their system. Goalie is a position of strength for the Flames, with young guys like Ortio, Brossoit, and Gillies in the pipeline. I can't see any of those guys breaking through yet to take a job from the likes of McDonald, Ramo, or Berra at this point, but it bodes well for the future.
