No jokes from me, they're probably closer to the cup than the Sabres are. :L

Edit: They are.......

My dad was an editor of the Sun, back in the early 80's and early 90's. Ah well, at least he wasn't in the sports department.

Taj ‏@taj1944 now Bill Watters doesn't think the Leafs have a cap problem because they can just send Liles to the AHL and clear his cap space..

I think it's funny that people still think Bill Watters is relevant...He's more of a windbag than Burkie.

Really crazy to think that the fabled franchise that is the Toronto Maple Leafs hasn't been on top of the NHL world since the expansion of '67. They've had great players like Darryl Sittler, Doug Gilmour, Mats Sundin, and now Phil Kessel. Guys like Dave Keon, George Armstrong, & Frank Mahovlich must feel like the '72 Miami Dolphins, popping open a bottle of champagne every time a Maple Leaf team fails to win the Cup.

I remember them being quite competitive during the Doug Gilmour & then the Mats Sundin eras, but I don't think there's a city in the world more deserving of a Cup than Toronto. I think the fact they haven't won a Cup since 1967 is really sad to think about when you consider how hockey crazy the city of Toronto is. I mean the Blue have been around since 1967 and haven't seen a Cup either, but St. Louis is nowhere near the hockey crazy city Toronto is. That's why it's kind of sad to think about the Maple Leafs drought.

Why - are the Leafs planning parades in the other 29 NHL cities if they win the Cup? I didn't know they had that kind of pull around the league.

/I guess Rob Ford is far more powerful than any of us imagined

I don't think I will. I would like to see the city of Toronto win the Stanley Cup during my lifetime. Ditto for Buffalo & Vancouver. At the same time, I think I'm more likely to see flying cars.

the way that teams fan base acts now is bad enough they win a cup they will be the most insufferable fan base on the entire planet.

It was already getting bad when it looked like the Leafs would advance to the second round - All of us should thank the Boston Bruins for preventing that from happening.

Who cares? We'll probably ALL be dead by the time they win their next Cup anyways.
