Understood, and it is getting a bit ridiculous but the team’s reaction this past week, the complete 180 from what was happening just a few days earlier, means it doesn’t take much imagination to see things like this happening.

And to be honest, I’m much less in the “oh man this was so mean” camp as I am in the why the fuck did nobody in this media hellscape report this if it was such common knowledge and what else are they not saying?

I mean sorry but what’s the point of a train car full of insiders if they’re too pussy to put out anything bad about the most popular and hated team in the league? “Access” isn’t an answer, either - there’s literally nothing coming out of the Leafs’ dressing room or management that isn’t intentionally leaked and even when it is it’s so far in between that it would behoove you to just publish the dirt. Plus there will always be another Paul Marner. Everything else you can glean from press conferences and watching the games.

ESPN goes hard on NBA and NFL bigshots all the time. Nobody ever says “ok, we’re cutting off ESPN”. It’d be nice for NHL writers to actually do some work rather than sit around waiting for an agent to text them that “3rd liner X hoping to extend contract around $2.4 mil AAV, stay tuned!” and then go back to doing nothing and making millions while Bell and Rogers keep making rounds of layoffs.

This is how he talked to his 12 year old when he *knew* cameras were on. Imagine what he was like when they weren't.

Raptors closed the lead to three about 400 times that game.

The Leafs allowed three goals in the last 40 seconds, apparently (I turned it off at 3-1).
