I liked the quote from Sparks where he said (paraphrased) ""the core of this team will form the core of a Stanley Cup winning team".

Not Trump-level hyperbole, but, sure Garrett, sure.

All kidding aside, I also subscribe to the theory that winning breeds winning. So good on the Marlies!

Will be interesting to see how many of them crack the Leaf lineup next year.

He was the Marlies GM before taking over the big club duties so this is his baby.

Gotta believe that Kyle does not like his name and the word "baby" being used in the same sentence. :D

BGDave last night while watching the game: The guy on the left with the glasses is now the Leafs General Manager
MrsBGDave: Really? He is very young.

/She is the definition of understated.

He looks young but I don't think he's really that young for the job at this point. He'll be 33 in November. For comparison, Stan Bowman was 36 when he took over the Hawks.

I'd be happy to see more guys around that age taking big roles on teams rather than Garth Snow finding a new employer or Brian Burke leetching his fat red face onto another unsuspecting organization.

How the re-branded "Scotiabank Arena" will look:

Funny thing is because of CIBC Square going up on the other side of Bay St. absolutely nobody other than the CIBC workers in that building will be able to see that Scotiabank logo in the second pic lol

I feel like the logo should face the train tracks.

I was out last night and didn't pay much attn to the draft but I see now that many Leaf fans think Dubas picked Sandin because he's a SSM player and are pissed he didn't take Joe Veleno.

Both players seem like they have good potential. Wings did appear to have a good round.

All things equal, I guess I probably would've gone for the centre but I don't think this is some sort of franchise nepotism going on. Sandin has decent Jake Gardiner-like potential. Or some of these guys:

Welp, there goes my chances of ever knowing what exactly Jacques Lemaire did for the Leafs.

I'll just choose to assume that "Special Assignments" were code for measuring facial hair length.
