"We're a team"
So Duchene's value is probably in the gutter now too right? I mean, the adult in the room full of kids and he's pretty much the only voice you hear on this tape. Combined with the fact the team he left last year became suddenly very good while the conference finalist team he joined suddenly became...well...
...this can't be helping anything for either him or the Sens who by my calculations should be at the bottom of the standings by this time two weeks from now and without their first round pick.
There could be a scenario here where the Sens trade two 60 pt players within a year of each other and get jack shit back.
What they need is character and leadership in that room. A guy like Dubinsky to really take charge. And you're right, Duchene should just be moved. So....
Sens need stability as well.. And there is nothing more stable than the Loui Eriksson contract. That's stable like an anchor ... They should get him. He won't complain about anything since he does nothing .. Dubinsky and Eriksson for Duchene.... We can split him between Vancouver and Columbus.
Win/win

If you really want to be the next in line for a guy who's soured two franchises in a row on him, by all means. Worked for SJ with Evander Kane. What they need is character and leadership in that room. A guy like Dubinsky to really take charge. And you're right, Duchene should just be moved. So....
Does anyone know what city that Uber video was taken in??
Thought I read Phoenix

Interesting point on Hockey Central, do you think the players keep talking in the cab after a cabbie asks who they play for if they are in Toronto or Montreal or Boston?
I say no.
Don't think the Rangers really gave up on him as much as they traded what they thought was a decent asset for a rental player. Duclair is also a third round pick. Comparing him to Kane or Duchene, both of whom were top 4 picks, isn't really fair for anybody. He's been a nice reclamation project but it's not like a third rounder can really bust.3 franchises in a row have given up on Duclair, soooo.
